I know what you mean. Take this trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXfVp6WXE5M

Forget for second the movie is godawful and just watch it. The trailer covers every major plot point in chronological order to the movie no less. They even show Sonja killing the evil bitch at the end of the trailer. Why watch the movie now if you essentially just watched the whole thing in two and a half minutes?

Hmm.. I hadn't seen that movie until just now. It's also amusing the narrator tells us the movie stars Commando's Arnold Schwarzenegger (perhaps you've heard of him.)

You know that wasn't any kind of official trailer at all... but rather a joke made by fans...

Like the trailer for Seven that makes it a buddy cop movie

Yes, I know. Hard to miss when it's titled by the YouTube account holder.

But it's still endemic of plenty of trailers that have been released that have had nothing to do with the game or movie.

I'm all with you on game trailers. The tendency to advertise a game with pre-rendered animation that isn't indicative of gameplay fails to help anyone make informed decisions about the games.

But I suppose in the case of many second rate games, that is the point.
