Are you a sad lad/lass who doesn't own X-Com: Terror from the Deep (Steam version) yet, open your ear: I am willing to give you one.

Last time, I asked you to hate your loved game. This time, I want to know...

The game which made the biggest impact to you.

So, what game changed something in you or you discovered something new from yourself or I dunno. Which game truly impacted your soul.

(My short answer to the thread: Fallout series. Reason? Namely The Ink Spots and Louis Armstrong. Introduced me to a new music which I adapted outside the games even).

Contest ends on 9th of Monday at 8 PM (20.00), Finnish time GMT +2. Winner will be announced via PM.

Good hunting Stalkers. Also, it's Friday, drink some rum will you?
Not in, but +1.
Not in, but the game that had the biggest impact on me was probably Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers. Everything about it was eye-opening: the story, the music, the adult storytelling. Great experience.
First entry never wins, so i will open the way for everyone else.

The game that had the biggest impact on me was Civilization (the first one).
This is the game that made me realise that video games could be more that just a 10 minute arcade style time waste.
It was also my introduction to strategy games, a love that is still with me....
Not in.

Probably something from my earliest days, like Autoduel, Roadwar 2000, The Bard's Tale, etc.

Or maybe a little later, with the titles that cemented my enjoyment of PC gaming: RR Tycoon, Civilization, Harpoon, Gold Box games, SimCity, The Perfect General, etc.

Can't really pick one.
Beneath a Steel Sky - my 1st graphical adventure, since then I'm focusing mainly on adventure games.
It's maybe mainstream, but biggest impact to me made Heroes 3.
So much in one game, there are and economic strategy, and map mode, and battle mode, where you must think about every step and much more. I love strategy and that was gem for me.
Well, I'm in and thanks. +1
Not in but +1

The first Unreal man... The graphics just blew my mind. Especially the waterfall...
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. It introduced me to turn-based strategy, gave me a fabulous vocabulary (I won a spelling bee because I could spell "paladin"), and was the gateway game to the rest of the (U.S.) series, such as Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem GBA, which are fantastic games in their own right. Can't wait to get my hands on Awakening! Damn you, wallet!

Thanks for the giveaway! Count me in :D
in,maybe,that depends on the OP.

funny thing is the game that I believe had one huge impact on me was xcom:tftd, was a kid,I knew almost nothing concerning the english language(that the game had) and managed to beat it,by pure perseverence.

and I remember my father telling me this game wasnt for me I was too young and I had to know english to play it.
I kept asking him what does that mean what does this mean while playing it,

I still remember the face of my father when I showed him that I did it,he was shocked.

I believe this is the main reason that I was hooked with strategy games.

In for the chance to play this again :) and +1 :)

Also one of the main reasons that I believe that when you set your mind on one thing, you can do it. Especially if you are very little and fascinated by something in particular.

But let me tell you why I love Adventure games so much, because of two games:

Broken Sword, the first one. I say it's an amazing game where I actually spent my time trying to solve each of the puzzle myself. Also the voice acting and the animation made it for me.

The second one....

it's....

um....

Leisure Suit Larry....

The one with drawn animation, not the pixelated version....

Hey! I was a young hot blooded guy back then! gimme some slack!
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis -- it was the first game that showed me games could be more than mindless shooters like Wolfenstein 3D or simple arcade games. Not that there's anything wrong with those, of course.
I don't know if its wise to publicly declare you are Finnish or host a giveaway around that, but +1.

I actually agree upon, that if you declare that you're Finnish, it usually... doesn't end well ;)

But no worries, got 21 other assassins on my ass nevertheless.
i was impressed by Heroes 3...
2 addons, random maps, heroes leveling, artifacts, multiplayer, exploring, underground 9 different factions, neutrals, tactis, statistics - this game never dies...

i'm in thanks
