Elmofongo: I hope the final boss is not hard, I mainly focused on small guns and the Final Boss in Fallout 1 took awhile to kill even with the Sniper Rifle the strongest small gun in the game.

Nergal01: Eh, to be honest with you, The Master wasn't that bad compared to Fallout 2's final boss. You could at least reason with the Master if you did your research and defeat him without fighting, which you can't do in Fallout 2. On top of that, the final boss in FO 2 is such a monster (in terms of both stats and lore) that you pretty much need to use trickery to take him down. DON'T try to make this a fair fight. You'll lose.
Yeah but the master is one ugly son of a bitch.

reaver894: not entirely true, i spec'd for small guns and melee, Gauss rifle and supersledge FTW

there are perks that you can pick to always get criticals added with better criticals and perks to reduce the AP cost of moves.

that and a tonne of stims.
Ok, so you CAN win the conventional way but that sounds like you need a pretty specific character build to pull that off. >_>

Well, there are alternatives available to make this fight a little less punishing.
I love the reasoning ending with the Master at F1. You should do a whole new walk game to just get that. And get the killap´s patch to play F2, it fixes all the whole game and add content cut from game´s launching.

Elmofongo: But my biggest grips is how its executed, perhaps its the time the game was release or mabye I am used to cutscenes with cinamatic voice acting and angles etc., I just don't feel as immeresed in the story compared to other story driven games with more cinematic flavor like Dragon Age: Origins.

keeveek: I am sincerely disappointed and even disgusted by you :-(
You know, today's kids and yadda yadda. :)

You should have learned by now that quests in Fallout are never that simple.

Elmofongo: Well off to Fallout 2, is it better than 1, how different is it in terms of gameplay and content?
This is my personal opinion only (naturally), but Fallout 1 will feel like Fallout-Lite once you boot up Fallout 2 and have played it for a while. It has more of everything plus, it's my personal favorite game of all-time. Gameplay is pretty identical, but there are a lot more quests and towns to explore.

This is coming from memory, but did you have the Bloody Mess trait when you played Fallout 1? I think if you have that trait, the character will shoot the overseer in the end. Otherwise, he will just walk away and abandon the vault like he is asked. Also (again from memory); whether or not you purchased water from the Water Merchant (to extend the time you have to find the Water Chip), will affect the ending (the Mutants spot the caravan).

Also, don't forget to try Fallout Tactics! It's not as story-oriented, focusing more on combat, but it's still an awesome game.
I think I played it unpatched or unmoded or something because my ending was screwy... I should get back to it some day.
