If I bought Atari, could I release a series of their games as Jwrath games wave?

Infogrames renamed themselves Atari, but it's still the same company.
Using the ridiculous house analogy ( =P ), it's as if John Smith built a house and then changed his name by deed poll to Funky McSly. He's still the one who built the house.
And besides, Infogrames/Atari are just the publisher so it doesn't really matter which name is on the games since it's the developer that matters. Atari aren't stealing the credit for all of Infogrames's hard work, because Infogrames didn't make the game.
