I usually initiate the download and then cancel. Usually by the next day it has gone away. I haven't tried with the current game update, yet.
I also don't care!! I even have it on hidden games and come to think of it, games that are hidden shouldn't display updated notifications as well (or at least a separate option for it).
Start to download the game, give it a second, then cancel the dl. It will take away the red notification within an hour.
Yep, just did the initiate and cancel of downloading the game and it's now gone

did that yesterday, now it's back again :)
The reason there is a Dragonsphere update flag in general is because GOG has added a new FLAC soundtrack to the game's bonuses (thank you, GOG).

The reason the update appears again and again every day for the last 3-4 days is (as explained by madth3 here) because GOG is "updating the soundtrack one track at a time".

C'mon, it's kind of fun - every time I see the white-red '1' on the top of the page it's some kind of thrill ;-)
Actually, I finally want to play Dragonsphere because of this aggressive advertising. Maybe when I finished Zelda - Spirit Tracks.

You should thank MaxN as well since he donated the FLAC OST to us :)

Thank you, MaxN. I will try to find some forum entry written by you to thank you in person.
I think this is a sign that the whole "Jack Kean" thing has run its course. Now, it's all about the Dragonsphere.
Dragonsphere is a really good adventure game, and if you don't play it, you're missing out on a true classic. Multiple solutions and multiple endings. They don't make these sort of games any more.
Yeah, I think Dragonsphere has been getting endless updates for a whole day now! :P

Maybe it's Dragonsphere: Enhanced Edition. Now with soundtrack that's 5x its size!
1. Turn off the downloader
2. Click on anything downloadable related to the game.
3. Cancel the browser download dialog.
4. Wait an hour or two for the notification to go away.
