It's unbelievable... almost everytime I visit gog.com there is a new game I must have... I'm almost out of money... and then... suddenly I bought it ^^ Stop bringing good old games online!
Sorry for the sarcasm, just needed something like this. I have quite a few games that gog has played many years ago... this is an awesome project. I'm really happy to be able to play all those old games again. Love them more than the current games on the market. I'm just happy that gog doesn't have that many games yet. If so, I would be really out of money.
Anyone else feeling like this too?
Sincerely,
Chris

I'm guessing everyone here has a similar feeling :). I know I do, hardly a week goes by without me buying a game here :P.
I know how you feel.
Everytimes I say to myself:" hey, easy, spare some cash for later". Then a new announcement comes and I immediately "ZOMG must have!!"
Please, GOG team, release some sports games or...uhm...something else I don't like and give my purse some time to rest.
lol, maybe they can instate a chill out room for those who have over induldged....
where u click on the catalogue and it says "no new releases", followed by a sigh of relief from your wallet :)
i can relate to that. It takes caracter :p
I refused to buy more games and then they come with their anniversary present ==> instabuy :p
darned credit cards make it easy to just pay and play :p
I know the feeling.
Thanks gog for the personal wishlist.
I add new releases to it, so I can keep track of them and don't buy them rightaway.
Than comes the promo announcement and often at least 1 game from my wishlist is in it.
So in the end I still end up buying more games I have time for to play or was planning on buying.

lol, brilliant idea.
GOG to me is also a curse and a blessing. I've bought many games, but thankfully my wishlist is starting to shrink. But honestly, the positives far out weigh the negatives.
$10US is a good price to pay for a big, dopey grin and hours of enjoyment.
I clicked on this, thinking it was yet another thread of some guy hating GOG because it either had NO DRM, or because they thought it had DRM. And instead, I get this. I totally relate.
I'm still downloading stuff from the strategy first promo (thanks to low speeds & caps), and there are other titles I want to grab.
However, I need to hold myself back, even if I can afford them, as it just leads to one being silly and purchasing like mad :) Next week... I'll probably just grab something because I lost my grip on willpower.

I can't imagine me having a job... I know that after my first payday, I'd probably blow my cash on tons of games and Hubba Bubba.

After the first time I did work (not really a job, just a bunch of hours doing filing for three weeks). I went out and purchased 'Magic Carpet' and 'Theme Park'. (at $90AUD each)
Satisfaction of having something from those hours was a great thing.
Of course, now I'm older and I need to rejig finances more. Food, bills, insurance, rent and so on.
Ah yes, money. Meh.
I'm not an older gamer (I suppose I really started with SC and D2), but GOG has been eating at my money too. I've been actively trying to cut back since I'm a student (protip: no income! yet.), but man, the wishlist is just huge. Coupled with the D2D sale right now...wallet goes ouch.
I find that really looking at how much time you have to actually play games a good factor for holding up a purchase (and not give money to GOG? Sad, I know). I know I've bought some games I haven't touched yet.
Now, I'm not saying don't buy, I'm just saying hold it off for another day. :)
I can understand how you feel Chris, i just found this website and am already downloading :D
So many old classics that i've been dying to play. I can finally stop wasting time searching through crappy reviews & finally just play something i know i really want to. Im just glad my download limit is going to prevent me from getting too much.
Still quite a few classic's missing from the list, but hopefully that'll be cleared up in time.
i was addicted to cocaine
