There are also a few episodes of Doom as it would be if it were released now. Search for "Call of DooTY" on Youtube. It's hilarious.

Needs more cover-based shooting and excessively elaborate HUDs with objective markers.

EDIT: Also QTEs. And an achievement for pressing space at the menu screen.

That was quite amusing. I loved that little video at the end with the rocket jumping, I actually used to be like that when I played Quake lol. Oh the shame.

Reminded me how grey, dark and bland Quake looked. Blech.

And you're not going to get shooters like that any more while controllers continue to ensure that games have to cater for those with the reactions of a sloth. Maybe built in wiimote style sensors will help to change that?

EDIT: I've been writing a few snarky, shitty posts because I get all defensive about the modern shooters that I like (Bioshock/Left 4 Dead/Far Cry 2), but then I was a little more considerate about the humour and I can't delete the post.
