Wishbone: That doesn't mean you're allowed to sell or even give away the keys for the platforms you don't use yourself.
avatar
ZPavelZ: Not really - if you read their twitter archives they have stated several times that you CAN give keys you do not need to your friends. Humble Bundle guys are different in this - they say "all keys are for your personal usage only".
I must admit that I side with the Humble guys on that, but if the Indie Royale people feel differently about their own product, then I guess there's nothing anyone can say to that. Their product, their rules.

Also, for anyone who may be interested, iainmet and I have spoken via PM, and there are no hard feelings between us.

Yeah that was what I wanted to say. They seem to take it differently. Probably that is also why they give out separate Steam-keys for each game.

Good to know that.
Yeah, I replied a bit short which I have now edited out, while I was writing my reply Wishbone was editing the post. Bit of cross posting happened. So quickly sent a PM over incase it was read after the apology was made. Its all cool and no hard feelings.

One of my friends on Steam have Hard Reset on their wishlist so just sent them the key.
Hm... already have Jolly Rover (and the beginning seemed rather boring to me), will probably never play Vertex Dispenser and the other two (at first, I thought DLC Quest might be funny - until I saw the trailer. That made me definitely not want to play the game).
So is it worth it for Hard Reset?

Ironically, DLC Quest is way shorter than the bonus game in the bundle
Would anyone be willing to gift this to me?

DLC Quest's trailer was probably meant to be bad, in an ironic way. The full game is incredibly short, so it does not actually overstay its welcome. I would have felt cheated if I had payed for it though.
Lair of the Evildoer though, that is not a very fun game. I just tried it. After 2 levels I stopped using guns, because the game was too easy due to them (I still used them against exploding enemies, to avoid the otherwise unavoidable damage), and by level 4 I stopped playing altogether, as the challenge was still not going up. It was a poor mans C-dogs (a really poor man's C-dogs).
Well, I bought it. Namely for Jolly Rover, figured I would end up regretting not buying it like I regret missing out on Gemini Rue when it was on one of these indie bundles.
not buying this time, I'm gona wait HIB6 and Gala3

I actually found Lair of the Evildoer kinda fun. Yes, it's basic, and the Evildoer really needs a mad scientist voiceover. But it was enjoyable.
Damn, I already have Hard Reset on Steam... Gonna get this bundle for DRM-free Hard Reset and that adventure game.

Well, yes, it was certainly meant to be like this. And intentionally bad trailers/movies/whatever can certainly be done in a way that is funny or amusing. Imho, that was not the case with this trailer. It was just bad and the irony was lost... or maybe I'm simply too tired of all the DLC abuse and resulting ridicule. Anyway, thanks for the descriptions. Gonna skip this bundle.
Already own all of these (well except for the bonus game). DLC Quest was nice little platformer, slightly short though.

don't know about the bundle, but Hard Reset IS worth getting. i bought it in a Steam sale a while ago. buying it in the bundle might be cheaper.

Trying way too hard only to torch a strawman. Haven't played the actual game, but it looks like something that would amuse me for a few minutes, if it were free and made in Flash. (Like that achievement game with the elephants, whatever it was called, that one was at least genuinely clever at times.)

I got Hard Reset as a gift from the Steam pile. Played it for a bit, seemed fun enough. Jolly Rover is good; it's a very light-hearted, casual Monkey Island-ish game you'll clear in an evening. And it's got a rather charming developer commentary. So those two are definitely worth the asking price if you don't have them already.

EDIT: The game was called "Achievement Unlocked", of course. And look, it's spawned a sequel, too.
