hi all,

quite recently I've discovered Cinders - the illustrations are just georgeous, the story is supposed to be very catchy, but the price is quite steep for me (hopefully there'll be a sale some time :)

I've tried all "interactive" novels from Christine Love (I have yet to buy and try Hate Plus but I'll definitely be getting it)

can anyone please suggest another such "game" to me? and I really love things that are beautiful graphically, so please no "text only" :)

You mean visual novels? If you're interesting in romance, try Katawa Shoujo, it's free ;-)
hmm, is it any good? have you played it?

If you're interested, or don't mind, anime & manga, you may use this thread to find and grab more free visual novels :-)

well, they're nice from time to time, but I'm still hoping for some other styles too ;)

Can't help you with that, sorry :P But there probably are plenty :P
If you understand Japanese and have the machines, I whole heartedly recommend 428.

Not yet :)

Downloading to try it this evening when I am off work. It is part of the latest Groupee BM9 bundle, and you can get it DRM free there also.

As another visual novel game (of a sort...) Dear Esther? it is very good, I think.

Maybe Loving Life could be of interest to you? I haven't played it yet, so I can't say if it's any good, although the short reviews I've read seemed to be favorable. It's PWYW, and if you pay more than $0.99 you also get the soundtrack. Or if $0.99 is too much for you, you could also get game and soundtrack for $0.74 in the current ShinyLoot sale. ;)

Free visual novels that I can recommend (although they're anime in style) are Juniper's Knot and Katawa Shoujo.

Unfortunately you missed out on Cinders, it was available for $2.50 or so in the first GamesRage bundle not too long ago. :(

Tsukihime

It has interesting writing and really surprising plot twists, and the plot can be radically altered based on player choices. You need a translation patch though.
Gone home is pretty pretentious and the "message" is shoveled into your throat.

Not to mention it's badly designed.

Do not waste your money.
