Have you ever done it without the aforementioned workaround?

If they remove the option, then it's DRM and we can move one (fast!, back up all your GG games now!!). But they do know about it, which makes it even more puzzling. They know the trick, but don't care, so it's a DRM that doesn't care to be bypassed. Ok,... I guess.

no, I don't merely disagree, it is empirically and provably true that GG has DRM inherent to it's installer, not using its installer requires a workaround, requiring a workaround proves that it is in fact DRM.

Well since I download and backup every GG game I buy using the "trick" them fixing it would only stop me from buying there in the future, I wouldn't lost anything.

I'm not entirely sure. That's why I said that they have probably design it to seem multiplayer so every body believes accept the permanent connection. EA already said that they would shove up as much MP as possible to their games just because. But if you look at the gameplay, well, it is obvious that it could have single player component. I bet it even has a SP campaign.
With C&C4 as a precedent it's difficult to trust them.
No, it is not the same, because you need to verify ownership to install the game. Compare it to gog. Of course, I have to log to my account to download the games, but, once downloaded, I can forget about gog for the rest of my life. With GG, if they servers would go off, you cannot install the game anymore, even if you have the backup files. That's why I consider it DRM.

Again, that's your definition of DRM. Not theirs. I am simply stating their view on the matter. Feel free to contact support [at] gamersgate [dot] com and suggest that they change how their launcher works for "DRM free games".
I personally, don't care as the current work around works perfectly.

In addition to that, EULAs are post sale.
GG doesn't even sell video games. They sell toasters. You may define what they sell as video games, but I define them as toasters. We are both right.
