I heard only good things about this patch/mod. Oh boy, what was my surprise!

First of all, where the hell is M.E.R.C.? Why it's not avaible from the start?

Second - what the hell those changes in IMP were to achieve? Giving fucking MP5 to a merc that costs 3k dollars screws the game ballance entirely - you kill everyone with one shot from far away. (at the beginning)

Why the fuck changing actipn points? What's the fucking difference? Having over 100 action points each turn is riddiculous.

Why the fuck changing aiming? The new aim graphics are horrible.

Improved AI my ass. If by improved AI you mean 10 enemies at once rushing to be 5ft away from you, you don't know what you're talking about.

The only things I like is changed inventory (although it's confusing as hell at the beginning) and the fact you don't know how many bullets you have left in chamber during a firefight.

Everything else is HORRIBLE.
DON'T play it with this Mod Ugh I did Geez did I regret it it makes the game about 100000% harder I like hard games but that is BS!

You damn right I'm RAGED

the ONLY thing that makes this game harder is because there are like 3 times more enemies at once charging at you. the only thing.

What the hell is this shit...

In vanilla, M.E.R.C. was also not available from the start. If you wish to enable it, just set it in the INI file.

Run the XML_Editor and change the IMP items choices. Fix it to your liking. And if by MP5 you mean the 10mm one, that's what you get for starting with a marksmanship of over 80

Having the base AP being 100 instead of 25 allows for better distinctions between items. Most actions have had their AP costs multiplied by 4, but weapons were tweaked a bit more. While in vanilla a handgun may require 2 APs to fire, in 1.13 those 2 APs may be from 6 to 10, thus making some handguns faster than others. If you don't like it, find Data-1.13\APBPConstants.ini and change Base APs to 25 instead of 100. Also, Deputy and Squadleader (if using New Traits) add up to 25% more AP per round.

NCTH while a good idea doesn't have a good implementation in the 1.13, though UC/AFS seem to have gotten a better balance. I can give you a (quite long) explanation of what NCTH tried to achieve, but it does require a wall of text. If you are playing the stable version (4870), you can turn NCTH off in the preferences menu (second page), if you play with the latest svn version, you turn it on or off in the new game screen.

AI was always a mess. If you play with NCTH, it's even worse, due to the way effective range is calculated. The improved AI part has to do with the pathing algorithms, including avoiding lighted tiles in the dark, and avoiding places with many corpses.

Both of these 2 settings are optional as well. The inventory is the New Inventory you can choose in the new game screen, the bullet part can be changed in the JA2_Options.ini

Feel free to toggle off anything you don't like. Should you be more specific about what you don't like, I should be able to tell you how to turn it off.

P.S. Did you scan through the ini files before running the game first? Almost everything that 1.13 includes can be modified through the ini files, and it does give you a good idea of what is and isn't there, so feel free to change them.

Edit: Looking at the screnshot, 3 things.
1) Turn off reinforcements. If fighting in a town sector, the adjacent sectors will also send their enemies to assist in the fight, though that is also true for militia.
2) If that is Drassen, I do hope you've turned Drassen Counter Attack off, else you will be overwhelmed when Deidrianna decides to send the force she threatened to send your way (3-5 groups of elite, can be defeated, but it does require a bit of planning).
3) If playing an svn version and not stable, the counterattacks will happen for the other cities as well. Plan accordingly.

JMich: snip
I didn't understand most of the things you are talking about... :P I just installed it and run it. Turned off "drop everything" option because it made JA2.5UB too easy.

I think I will just find a mod to play in higher resolution and play the vanilla... The changes in this mod are too much and I don't like most of them.

and yeah, I'm in Drassen mine and I'm OVERWHELMED... I like difficult games but not when difficulty is achieved only by enemy numbers.

In the game's directory, find INI_Editor, run it, and select vfs_vanilla, or however it's called. That one disables most of 1.13's additions, thus getting it closer to vanilla. On the other hand, it's not maintained as well as 1.13
Alternatively, grab the 800x600 mod from Kermi's.
Should you at any point decide to give 1.13 another try, either reply to me or send a PM and I should be able to give you a few pointers on how to set up the first game. 1.13 does require a bit of setting up to get the game to your liking, but you should be able to tweak it to be exactly as you like it.
