I can't test it this weekend, but the Massassi Temple team seems to have created a fix for 3D acceleration problems that actually work.

If people here who have the game (Steam and/or original version) and are experiencing issues with 3D acceleration turned on with their graphic card could test it, it would be really nice to see if it works. Thanks. ;)

The Massassi temple is awesome. You guys have to try out some of the greatest mods for JK there. Examples include Saber Battles X. There is another one made by the same author, but I forgot it's name.
There's also some ninja mod, I think the name is Ninja Kage or something. Then there's also the Dragon Ball Z mod, which is very impressive.
I don't have any graphics problems except for crashing after going to the menu (I have the Steam version... pffft). I hear that disabling backbuffer (or something like that) can fix most issues with the game. Not sure, haven't tried it out yet, but I'll report to the GOG Borg later.
Oh fantastic, gonna try this now.
EDIT: It does help with the FPS issue I was having. Nice.

I can confirm this works excellently on my Radeon HD 4870 X2 at 1920x1200 resolution, hardware acceleration turned on. I have just played through the first three levels, and have not experienced any problems yet. Now, if only I could get those cut-scenes to play in full screen, everything would be just perfect. Or at least, as perfect as can be until the game comes to GOG. ;)
Many thanks for the link!
That wrapper makes sense. I just finished my playthrough of Jedi Knight under wine and had no problems (did need to check the virtual desktop box under winecfg though). 3d acceleration and 16bit color worked fine. Wine's dx is a wrapper.

I had the crash on menu thing when I first played, but it stopped when I put on 3D acceleration and put the game on my native res.
The game runs perfectly here, no need for a fix. ATI users seemed to have the most problems, so I am glad a solution was found for them.
