They either had a fast deadline approaching, or some people in marketing/promotions decided to have some fun instead of the usual trailers we get.
Must of missed the keyboard cat meme, and it's the first time I've heard of this specific Sam Fisher / Splinter Cell game, so I can't really say I like or dislike it. Points for being different though.

Eh... I've seen the original footage for this at some point. They've used it for legitimate trailers, so it couldn't have been too hard for someone in the PR department to play around with the music, stick on a cat head, etc. etc.
That being said, cute little bit, what they did with it.
