Well, after trying the whole component cable thing out with my monitor and my PS3, it didn't look very good. There were lines moving through the picture, and the picture quality itself isn't so great. So I think I may try to find a good-sized LCD TV I can take with me to college that has both VGA and HDMI support. I was thinking of this one:

But if you know of a better one for a decent price, that would be good, too.

They should come in red, not only will it make them go faster but the colour will be more appropriate for one of the three uses
