Szulak: You might want to take a look on SFML (http://www.sfml-dev.org/), it's decent library for simple game creating :)

osborne112: I'm actually reading a book teaching game programming with pygame when I get free time but that sounds good too. Of course it will be awhile til I make anything but you know never too early to brainstorm...
Never used pygame per say, but high five for using one of my favorite programming languages :P!
