I was wondering if it's possible for GOG to make these games available in a native Mac OS X format. They already have games working almost perfectly under windows 7, but I'd love to get native Mac OS X compatibility. Yes, certain games can work using all sorts of workarounds (including DOSbox for the mac), but if gog made mac native versions, it'd make life easier for not only me, but a lot of other people. I love this site, and I love the games on here, but having mac native versions would do so much for me. Anyone agree with me?
For there to be native osx compatibility, GOG would need access to the os x ports of games if they exist (such as Giants: Citizen Kabuto). Gog are also are never given any source code of any game they get therefore they couldn't port the game to os x regardless.

It shoud also be noted that any games on here that received mac ports released prior to os x cannot run in any way on os x due to os x having zero native compatibility with all non os x applications.

So I'm a Mac user myself, but as Kabuto said there are serious problems with trying to get the native Mac versions, not the least of which is offering tech support for the Mac version and unfortunately GOG's tech support staff is already overloaded with just supporting Win XP - Win 7. In addition you'd have all the problem Kabuto mentioned - for a lot of OS 7 - 9 games they'd have to recode them into OS X apps (carbon apps they are called I believe), which would be a major undertaking. So realistically, it is going to be awhile (years) and then only older OSX games.

Until then, DosBox for the Mac is equivalent to DosBox for PC/Linux (Boxer is a great frontend btw) - same for ScummVM. WINE works pretty well for most other things - sometimes you get even better compatibility with WINE than with Windows 7! Sometimes not :).
