I have a GOG code for Commandos + Desperados pack to giveaway (which I had initially gotten for myself, but then decided I wanted only Desperados, and asked support either a refund or a gift code. I got a gift code, which I tried to trade with no success at all and having procrastinated to ask for a refund for the gift code, I’m now “stuck” with it and decided to give it away).
The pack contains in a single gift code 4(four) games: Commandos Ammo Pack, Commandos 2+3, Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive and Desperados 2: Cooper’s Revenge.

And now the rules:
-No rep or registration date requirements.
-You can enter for yourselves or others and you can do almost anything you want with your code once you receive it (although I’d prefer you wouldn’t trade it-not that you would have any success-I didn’t!-but it wouldn’t be honest to do so).
-In order to enter state that you’re in(with “I’m in” or something similar). You’re allowed to enter even if you own some of the games in the pack-just precise how many of them and/or which of them so that I have an idea which codes will remain in my possession in case you win.

And a discussion topic (so that the GA isn’t an endless series of “I’m in”s):
Which ones do you prefer-Commandos or Desperados? This question can practically be boiled down to which historical period you prefer-the Wild West or WWII? You can elaborate why you like whoever you like, if you feel like doing so.
Or (in case the educational system managed to persuade you-wrongly imho-that history is a total bore):
Which is the manliest thing you have ever done (or have ever heard being done-I don’t mind if you aren’t the protagonist :-)?
( I thought to ask this after noticing that Commandos and Desperados were pretty manly after all :-)

I tend to prefer the military style games. There is something about re-enacting massive country changing events. On top of that, there has been much written and much study of the advantages and weaknesses of different equipment from different countries. Last but not least, who doesn't want to rule the world.

I liked both series (but I only played the first title of Desperados). There aren't many Wild West themed games out there compared to WW II so I'd give that one a small advance, despite Desperados 2 got rather mediocre reviews. (But I'm still intrigued to buy it, because of the fun I had with its predecessor)

I prefer the wild west, because wars are offcourse never fun. But the wild west, while there is some shooting here and there, it still seems like a fun time and place to have been there.

Never played these specific games, iirc. I have plenty of world war/army style games, so I'm sort of tired of them at the moment and would love to try some wild western action.

Please count me in, and to answer, I prefer Desperados/The Wild West setting, based on looks and don't like to think about the real world too much and WWII is too close to today's real world. I prefer fantasy; else the farther back in time, the better. OR throw in some gigantic robots!

Back to the question: Commandos or Desperados? It's a bit difficult for me to choose... in those two periods, you could cosider yourself lucky just to have survived another day. Given my military tactical brilliance (all lies, I'm just writing random words!) I guess I would have had more chances during the World War. At least, I would have been part of an army, while in the Old West I would have probably eneded up dead in a nanosecond, stabbed by the local bandit "just because".
