Mix TF2 with Heroes of Newerth, DotA, or League of Legends and you pretty much get this. It is very fun but the problem is no-one that I know plays it or owns it.

I already have the game, and yes, it is awesome.
This game is so awesome that there is absolutely no demo for it so that everyone with be in massive surprise by it's greatness after they've purchased and installed the goodness.

By the way, is this another online only thing? There goes 75% of potential buyers right there.

"Gee, where is everyone?
Why all the dust and tumbleweeds?"

You've got probably about three million gamers throughout the entire world and they're distributed and spread very thing amongst six million online only games.

It looked interesting to me but not going to get something that I'm not sure will run on my rig or not and don't want anything that I can't play solo.

You can play Solo in a Base Defence game mode. But if you only want to play singleplayer then that is essentially cutting out about 75% of the game. So yes, it is pretty much multiplayer only. I know you were exaggerating with the 75% potential buyers thing, but that hasn't stopped a games success before (TF2, to name one of many).

Yeah, that's what I kinda figured.

I only take Team Fortress 2 online - I know there are always going to be players and matches.

But I hardly ever play it.

Same thing with Battlefield 2. I got the collection hoping for a solo campaign like the PS2 version but pretty much got left to only online matches and most servers will kick you because your ping isn't up to par or your not using a headset for communication.
I own it and I wouldn't call it amazing, I read the "Mix TF2 and Dota/LoL/HoN" argument and I got really excited. Then I got a bit disappointed when it is actually not as deep as I wanted it.

Still worth the 10€ or whatever it cost though.
Just gave the guest passes to people.
Don't really see the justification for the 'is it online only?' complaint as the game is only $15 U.S. -- doesn't have a single player but it is accordingly priced.

Also, in before predictably forthcoming Steam complaints.
My reasoning for not getting it yet is it looks too much like TF2 to bother with. I may as well just play TF2.

Fair enough. I'm actually waiting for a sale before I pull the trigger. It is slightly different than TF2 because the focus is more on advancing the bots a la DoTA but there is still a lack of maps and overall player base.
I read much hype for a very long time and bought TF2. I loved it for about two days, before I realized the majority of players were rude opinionated drunken frat rats, or ruder more opinionated children. I don't wish to repeat this. Bots are much nicer to play with.

Uh...I tried a few times. Always the same maps, always one or two people on. And they didn't talk.

Yeah, I am finally up for a substitute teaching position, and I'm on the East Coast - I'll be at a school most days around that time :D

...besides, I just bought Just Cause, it now ate TF2's drive space :P
