Well, 5 bucks seems nice for this little INdie game. I am downloading the demo, and I need to know if the game is as good as it sounds. Anyone here ever play it?

I've heard (well, seen har har) lots of people debate this issue.
Apparently it's a very niche game, if you love it, you'll LOVE it, if you don't get it, you'll dislike/hate it.
But they have been continuously updating and refining the engine and gameplay so I would daresay you'll have fun.
Yeah... It's not that great.
There's really no storyline, and while it's a sandbox environment there's not much to do.
The combat is pretty cool, and some of the other members here have said that mods add considerably to the experience. I haven't tried any mods yet, but, I don't know.
At five dollars, unless there's something else you must play, you won't be kicking yourself too hard if you don't like the game.
And, no, I haven't played it.
I really fucking love it, I'm playing without mods. I bought it from D2D and let me tell you, IT'S FREAKIN' AWESOME
I love it. The combat is the primary part of the game. Play it with mods.
I can recommend:
The Eagle and the Radiant Cross (my fav)
Look on the Talewords site for more mods
It's worth it
Is this on GOG now? GREAT game, I HIGHLY reccomend it. I paid for access rights to a subscription to said title via my Steam account (See what I did there?), and it's great.
Trying now...
Rohan, you can use mods on the demo
Just get the folder (making sure it's the only folder of the mod-i.e. the umbrella) and put it in the modules fodlder
Eagle and the Radiant Cross is one of the best mods i've come across in M&B. It diversifies and adds factions, more weapons, armour and gunpowder. I suggest you try it
Get the Gangs of Glasgow mod for Mount and Blade..
Rohan15 check this thread out for mod details.

A list of the best ones with a bullet point rundown of what they bring to the table.
Also if you have a good computer scroll down to Gameplay enchancers and grab the battle size changer mod. It works with the vanilla game, not tryed it with other mods but I imagine it would work with those as well. It basically lets you have 1000 men on the battlefield instead of the current limit of 100. So if your computer can handle it this allows for some proper sized fights.
just wanted to say, I've been playing mod-free and I love it.
I tried the demo and quickly learned to hate the mounted combat system.

Prator: I tried the demo and quickly learned to hate the mounted combat system.
It does take some getting used to, but the other night, I whooped 25 guys all by myself, because I was on a horse and they couldn't get me. :D
I tried to like it, but couldn't (as much as I love indie games...). The mounted combat seemed a bit clunky, and nothing else stood as great. Maybe I should invest more time on it, but not now (specially considering that I won't be able to get it until the promotion ends).
