Hey, figured I'd ask, since many of you may have this game, should the first run through be played "vanilla" or is this one of those few games that is best modded to begin with? If it should be modded early, any one have any must-have mod recommendations?

Gangs of Scotland, I heard this one was good.

Fire and Sword if you like a bit of Polish historical fiction.

I don't think Fire an Sword has been ported to Warband yet, and Gangs of Glasgow (I assume that's what you're talking about) has only been ported over as a multiplayer mod so far.

I myself have played Prophesy of Pendor, which is rather difficult, but can be quite fun when it gets going.

I'm playing through on vanilla right now, and quite enjoying myself.

I'm not a history buff. Are there any swords-and-sandals mods? That might be fun.

There's Imperium Graecorum. I haven't tried it yet, and it seems to take place just after the fall of the Western Roman Empire, and takes place in the Eastern Half. I heard it's in a very unfinished state though.

Since my initial post, I have looked around and keep seeing Floris Mod Pack, anyone have any thoughts on it?

What about that mod that changed/improved the animations?
Is that one any good?

There is also one being made about the wild west, it has deer cavalry...
