Ixamyakxim: Mount and Blade is a fantastic game that I've been playing in one way or another for over a decade (wow, has it been that long! I feel like the freeware / beta release was some time in '01 - '03) Great game and the true definition of a "sandbox" - I remember the first time I fired it up and thought "How the hell am I EVER going to be able to afford ONE piece of armor, let alone outfit a retinue!"

And thanks for the reminder of Salvation Prophecy! I missed grabbing it on a discount from Amazon last year, noticed about a week or two ago that it was 5 bucks again... and never picked it up! I hope I grab it this time... though my newly burgeoning (spelling?) backlog thanks to Summer Sale might interfere with that!
It's $5 on bundlestars right now if you want it...
What are some favorite community mods?

A few of mine:

A Clash of Kings:A Song of Ice and Fire mod.

Warsword Conquest:A Warhammer Fantasy mod.

The Last Days of the Third Age:A Lord of the Rings mod that occurs during the War of the Ring. Features a rarity in WB:You can actually win or lose this war. Originally a mod for native M&B, a small team led by Swyter (Star Wars Conquest mod) is updating it for Warband.

Floris Modpak:Takes some of the best work of the modders and overhauls Native. I dled this before I ever played 'vanilla' and couldn't imagine going back to native.

Brytenwalda:Awesome historically accurate mod set in the 7th century CE in the British Isles.

1257 AD mod:Set in the "known world" during the aforementioned year.

Vikingr mod:A multiplayer mod where you can choose to fight for the Vikings, Englisc Saxons, Normans or the Eastern Rus! The community is not as active as it once was, most people having moved on to Napoleonic Wars DLC.
Just wanted to mention this is a FREE Mount&Blade:Warband weekend through Steam, in order to promote the fact that Steam Workshop now supports the amazing mods for this exceptional game.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm yet to play Mount and Blade in any form - seems a good opportunity to try.
This series looks pretty cool! Here are some wishlist links:
Mount and Blade
Mount and Blade: Warband
I would love to see this game on GOG. However, Warband is primarily a multiplayer game, which GOG isn't well-equipped to handle right now.

Perhaps once GOG Galaxy is out, the developers will be more interested in releasing the game here as well.
Voted. Hope the game will come to GOG and have support for GOG Galaxy.

NoNewTaleToTell: You're welcome! GamersGate has a demo that gives you a good impression of the early parts of the game.

On that note, Salvation Prophecy should be here as well...

Mount and Blade has been out for a while now that I think about it haha. I first heard of the series about six years ago, it would have melted my laptop at the time so I never was able to play it until I tried the demo last year and bought Warband earlier this year, I've already put a hundred hours or so into it. I haven't even gotten around to trying mods out either.

If you're still interested in Salvation Prophecy, I'll go ahead and say that it's worth its full price ($19.99 usually, I believe). I don't know how often it goes on sale, but I managed to catch it on Steam's summer sale and it's the best $5.00 I've spent on a game this year.

I'll have to check that out too, thanks for the reminder.
