Alright, so we have discussed movies and such ,but what I really love to hear is people's favorite band, bands, genre, or solo musician. Youtube videos, and links to LEGAL streaming content are welcome, provided that is not against the ToS, EULA, or whatever you call it.
So, here we go:
mewithoutYou (folk inspired rock)

Neutral Milk Hotel (folk, indie)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iipO9Tvk1EI
and just to throw a curveball here:
I've been listening to Nine Inch Nails doing this Joy Division cover nonstop lately:

A couple of the members of Iced Earth are from my state, Indiana, so that's kind of exciting. Come to think of it, as boring as Indiana is we have a lot of famous people. Axl Rose, and Michael Jackson among them. None of them stayed here too long...but they were born here no less.

Actually listening to Count of Tuscany as I checked this thread, then paused that just to see which song you chose to represent the best band in history to the masses.
Panic Attack is an acceptable choice, but their style can be so wide that one (regular) song can't really describe the whole catalog as it can with so many other artists.
Maybe I'm a little too enthusiastic, but I just love prog, and prog metal is fantastic.
Right let's throw you a couple of curve balls......
My favorite bands? Difficult to decide but I've picked a couple of amazing bands.....
1st are The Broken Family Band an alt country(ish) band from Cambridge (uk) although there are slowly becoming allot less country anyway enjoy this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OMohKnIvT8&feature=related
2nd are Seafood unfortunately these guys (and girl) are no longer together but that does not mean they should be forgotten this I think is the final video they ever made http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi4NLYwaoSk

Mozart - Requiem - Dies Irae (classic thingy)

Abed Azrie - Belief (Ibn Arabi) (wat, just sounds awesome)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCQRk20Vk6Q&feature=channel_page
etc.
My favourite band is XTC. Here are some of their songs:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZG3YTqOlIkI "The Disappointed"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpRymKh1K1E "Human Alchemy"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqDFGpd845Y "Respectable Street"
(yes their videos are mostly atrocious)
Another favourite of mine, and probably my biggest lyrical influence (despite that I never write about sex), is Momus: You can legally download his excellent early albums Tender Pervert and Don't Stop The Night.
I recommend "The Homosexual" and "A Complete History of Sexual Jealousy" from the former, and "Hairstyle of the Devil" and "The Cabriolet" from the latter.

Kraftwerk, like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXa9tXcMhXQ

Or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ivfMIWnWTk
Jean Michel Jarre, like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6J5Zyv6So0
Alexander Brandon, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBPK_oXeJgA < best soundtrack ever.
In Flames, like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAAXK3Mzm2k
Frank Klepacki, like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKM9YaVEFus
I also listen to classical music like Chopin, Bach and Wagner, sometimes The Kinks when mood strikes me.
I'm a huge Klepacki fan myself, Epsilon. He's one of my biggest musical influences; has been since I first played Dune 2 in 1992. The guy is awesome.
Have you heard Infiltrator yet? It's some of the best stuff he's ever done.
My favorite is metal, specifically power, symphonic and progressive metal, and I don't like most other styles of it. Unfortunately the majority of metal vocalists irritate the shit out of me, so I have yet to find more than a handful of metal bands that I really like.

What is it about the vocalists that you dislike? I'll lay odds I can recommend something different
What I'm listening to right now, one of my favourite tracks

Agreed but it is my favorite song by them :P. It is amazing how much variation progressive bands can have isn't it?
So, I have enough metal to last me for the rest of my life.
Not making fun... of course... just saying, lots of metal fans here on GOG.
When I'm not listening to folk music I'm a huge fan of late 80's early 90's goth/industrial. KMFDM, NIN, Cure, Siousxie, Joy Division, Bauhaus, and so on too.
Needless to say, I probably have the only iPod in Indiana that has Bob Dylan and Bauhaus on it.

Aliasalpha: What I'm listening to right now, one of my favourite tracks
Killswitch Engage: Rose Of Sharyn

I have a love/hate thing with Killswitch. The singer has an amazing voice, but too often he just growls. I HATE growl metal. The music is awesome, but I just can't stand growling.
Dream Theater, Marek Napiorkowski Quartet, Sean Malone
and few more
