It didn't become self aware and attempt to destroy your timeline did it? I'm sorry, I had to ;)
skynet464: Yeah, the saves are whats important. At least in the other games i was playing either i didn't get too far or they're sandbox, so it wasn't a complete loss.
niniendowarrior: You can rip out your hard disk and transfer the files via another computer, I would think, but yeah, that does suck. :(
Also, and this. I know when I've totally had a hard drive go to hell on me in the past, I was able to pull out the harddrive (physically), plug it into a computer (often an old dust collecting monster in my basement) and run enough recovery software to save the files that were corrupted in the first place. Of course, YMMV (and it's been a while since I've had to do this) but if you can pull the harddrive and know the modern programs to hunt down and restore those corrupted files it might be worth a go.
