Reever: Thanks for the encouragement, guys. Though it's still some time till I have to deliver my thesis...:D

Novotnus: Don't worry. Really, it's more of a formality than anything else.
Well, I already had to do a mini-thesis in school (15 pages), but yeah, a Bachelor is something else. But you do have a whole semester, so I guess I'll manage :D

Hell, my Bachelor was over 60 pages :) But, unlike Master, I enjoyed the subiect.

Yeah, the subject is vital. If you're genuinely interested in what you're writing about, then the research and everything won't be as tedious as when you're just writing about a shitty topic just to get it over with.

And I don't even want to think about a Master at this moment xD
I remember when I wrote my dissertation (on stereotyping of teacher/student roles in manga). I spent about 1 year collecting research material. 1 year collating notes. Then wrote the entire final dissertation in one night. Finishing it about 1 hour before the deadline >_>.

I actually had to cut about 80% of what I would have liked to cover too on the advice of my tutor. She suggested I keep the material and write a book with it. Maybe one day. But I'll have to collect material again as the stuff I collected met with an unfortunate accident involving a torrential rain and flooding =(.

keeveek: It's so pointless. Nobody except your professor and the reviewer will read it anyway
Ours were published in the university library, and the last time I checked, mine had been taken out to be read a fair few times -- which is embarrassing really as when found several typos in it the last time I dug out my copy =S.

keeveek: But it's nearly finished. The moment when I put the final dot in it, will be the happiest moment of my life.
Tell me when you're done and I'll gift you a game ($10 or less) of your choice. I know how fscking taxing the end of thesis writing can be, and how much I wanted to relax with a good game afterwards. Problem was, when I finished my thesis, I had been living off of credit cards for a full three months, and had no money at all to indulge even a $5 game onto myself, that, and my only computer was a shitty old spare laptop I had to drag out of retirement since my other broke about a month before the deadline. Luckily, I landed a job within a week of finishing through a friend. But I remember downloading old Apogee games and a SNES emulator just to play something that wasn't a flash game so I could wind down after three months of utter stress.

What if the thesis is entitled "Why we need to nuke Norway"?
im still trying to figure out do i wanna go MA then PhD or just jump to the latter. apparently the first year is the same as your MA but you don't get the 'MA' and i sorta like to complete things *mutters about being nuts*.
i agree it has to be something your (even vaguely) interested in otherwise you just cant get through.

//start side ramble
Its taken me nearly 5 years to chill after the mess i got myself into from my BSc (Hons) - im still not sure the price was worth it for the 1st class with hons, but you cant change who you. However in hindsight and in some magical alternate reality if i could have chosen to take a 2.1 and not mess myself up so much i think would have been worth it. not to mention im still trying to get a job, anything even remotely related to the damn subject and not a freaking supermarket (5 & a half years i stuck that, 4 after my degree!). *mutters further about the economy and graduates*
//end side ramble

so what has any of this pointless ramble have to do with your pain? nothing apart from being able to feel a huge amount of empathy and say it will end i promise. mind you only being a BSc i guess that sentiment means nothing compared to other fellow higher up graduates :). seriously it will get better and the end is coming so huge Congratulations when it does (you have to be able to hand deliver it in a better state then i did! - i could barely walk :P).

That's very generous of you. :-) Right now, I have around 5 pages to the finish, but I need to read few articles before I start. So my thesis will be finished tomorrow.

Currently I'm unemployed as well...

Yeah, that can be really frustrating - you work hard to get your degree and then you are unable to find a job that will even remotely connected to subject you study... You start have a second thoughts about the choices you made.

However, don't give up, man. You can do this.
I took me over 3 years to find the job in my profession. I was quite miserable. And then I decide to quite literally close my eyes and jump into deep, unknown waters, leaving everything behind. It was kinda "all or nothing" stunt. I was damn terrified at the beginning, but then after the while I see that good education and stubborn work really pays off.
Now I'm doing what I was studied for, what I always want to do, and I'm happy like pig in the mud. :)

So, go for it!

Mr_GeO: snip
Theoretically after law studies it shouldn't be hard to find a decent job even if you're not going to be attorney. But you know how it is in Poland - you have to be a student with 10 years of experience and a 1st degree disability to work without contract for half the payment :P And your own car of course! And a computer and a phone, that would be ideal.
