As the thread title states, would someone be kind enough to recommend me some good beat'em up games on PC in the vein of Streets of Rage and Final Fight series. It can be 2D or 3D. So far I've found this indie game(still in development) called 'Mother Russia Bleeds' which looks similar to SOR/Final Fight.

I've also played Castle Crashers and will be checking out Double Dragon Neon and Guacamelee later on. So if someone could post a list of beat'em up games that they feel I should try out, it would be immensely helpful. It can also be a freeware title or a fan made game like Bruce Lee: Revenge of the Dragon which was pretty fun.

P.S. - To all fellow beat'em up fans, I recommend watching the pre-alpha trailer of Mother Russia Bleeds since GOG doesn't allow me to post the youtube link.
if youre also into beat em ups like street fighter id recommend skull girls, obviously street fighter, injustice and if youre also a console gamer soul calibur
I believe they had to pull the download links, but if you can find a copy of the Streets of Rage Remake project, it was a downright fantastic fan-made remake, all created from scratch. You can find info about it here:
http://www.bombergames.net/sorr_project/

The site hasn't been updated in ages, and I'm honestly not sure if it's still available online somewhere, as I haven't thought of it in a good while, but it was free to download and played great on PC.
If you have a PS3 or XBOX 360: Scott Pilgrim vs the World

It's a damn shame that game never made it to PC.

Wouldn't that come under the genre of Fighting games?..but nevertheless, thanks for the suggestion. Never tried skull girls but did try the rest including Mortal Kombat.

@Akhliber- I did play the SOR Remake and frankly I think people wouldn't notice the difference if this was released as an official SOR game, it was that damn good. It's too bad Sega had to be a party pooper :( .
If you're looking at 3D, you might enjoy Zeno Clash 2 (I haven't played 1, so I can't speak to it).
Also, Sleeping Dogs, which is a sort of GTA clone, except with a lot more focus on hand-to-hand combat. You can do combos, running hits, environmental attacks (smashing someone into a fan), and so on. It is a GTA clone, so there are some driving missions and so on, and guns show up in the latter half of the game, but it does have solid hand-to-hand gameplay.

Guacamelee is loads of fun, I'm sure you'll enjoy it when you get to that.

Charlie murder is also another good beat 'em up arcade game for Xbox 360 which has some rpg elements.
a fun but repetitive beat 'em up co-op game for PC that is Foul play which u can read my review on the store page and see if it fits your bill or not $_$

I'm not a big beat'em up fan, but I really liked Megabyte Punch . But that's very different from Street of Rage, and I don't think it has co-op either .

It's a real shame, especially considering it was all their own code, and it really was lovingly made. I was sad to see them have to stop sharing it, as it was one of the best fan remakes/remixes of any game/series I've seen.
You are definitely going to dig Shank 1 and 2 and most likely also Mark of the Ninja by Klei Entertainment. Sadly these games are not on GOG.

Dust: An Elysian Tail and Guacamelee (both on GOG) are also definitely worth playing too, but they are quite different to Streets of Rage.

Sega was probably flabbergasted at the amount of content the game had and not to mention the gameplay quality far exceeded than what they could come up with.

After reading the replies here and also many thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely check out the games mentioned so far

1. Scott Pilgrim vs the World
2. Zeno Clash 1 & 2
3. Charlie Murder
4. Foul Play
5. Megabyte Punch
6. Shank 1 & 2
7. Dust an Elysian Tail
8. Mark of the Ninja

@babark- I was actually waiting for a 'Sleeping Dogs' Complete/GOTY edition with all DLC but unfortunately nothing came of it until there was a leaked store listing for 'Sleeping Dogs HD' for next gen consoles. So will be waiting to buy that instead.

If you have any other games in mind just feel free to post it, though currently I'm only looking for PC beat'em ups but then again I never did play some of the ones mentioned for PS3/360.

Right now I'm just going on a buffet of beat'em ups.

Sleeping Dogs Collection is the same thing as a "GOTY" edition, it contains all of the DLC, I know because I own it. No idea why Steam doesn't have the correct info, but again, I own the Sleeping Dogs Collection on Steam and it contains all of the DLC. Steam has a demo for Sleeping Dogs that you can try.

The Batman: Arkham games are similar to Sleeping Dogs (or rather, Sleeping Dogs is similar to the Batman: Arkham games) in terms of gameplay, although much more fast paced and with more enemies.

The developer of the Zeno Clash games (ACE Team) are releasing a new game in two days called Abyss Odyssey that is a 2D Rogue-lite/like beat 'em up game.

Anyway, I'll give another vote for Sleeping Dogs (amazing game, nearly flawless) and the Zeno Clash games (also amazing games, their only flaw is their overall length).
what about Dungeons and Dragons Chronicles of Mystara? maybe Fairy Bloom Freesia? Though I haven't played either.

maybe Jade Empire if you don't mind it being slanted more towards an action rpg.

also sega's got streets of rage/golden axe/comix zone/whatever available on the pc.

Mark of the Ninja is primarily a stealth game and going "guns blazing" will only get you killed.

If you're into character action hack and slashes (or whatever you wanna call them), try Devil May Cry 4 (works incredibly on a literal toaster because of the engine and people behind it, content cut short because Capcom hates Itsuno) or DMC3 if you're up to getting it running - it was a godawful port. (no DmC, never DmC) - also Marlow Briggs.

Kung Fu Strike is one game to try out on Steam, it also has a demo if you want to try it first.

Both are great, FBF is pretty short and it relies on you kicking the enemies like balls to hit other enemies so the damage builds up.
