It confuses me when the cutscenes don't do anything until I start to press the buttons. Stop breaking the cutscenes, Konami!

You could try PCSX2?
It works reasonably well for a fair number of games, some others.. not so well.

PCSX2 works with a lot of games. It can require a lot of tinkering. Never tried MGS2 or 3 on it. Hmmm...

MGS 2 had a PC release, that is covered :).

MGS 3 however....

I actually thought about simply buying a PS2 (they're pretty cheap nowadys) but I don't have a TV!
maybe theres a glimmer of hope rising will still mke it on the pc

Neither do I. I use a lowend video capture card with my PS2. Svideo input. It looks reasonably good and hides all the jaggies. ;)

edit: I'd kill for a capture card with component input though.
