Rejoice, fellow mortals - a great action game has hit the GOG.com catalog. In case you haven't played it yet and don't know if you might like it or not, don't worry - it's nothing like the movie!
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/bloodrayne]BloodRayne is an action-adventure game with a strong emphasis on action. You play the role of Rayne - a sexy female dhampir - half human, half vampire. Her actions, namely hunting down dangerous vampires, have caught the attention of an institution called the Brimstone Society. Your goals are similar, so you accept, and soon you find yourself in a swamp in Louisiana, trying to find the cause of a mysterious disease, hacking and slashing at hopelessly outclassed, but numerous zombies. If you like action, you can't go wrong with this game. With a bloodthirsty, half-vampire goddess, guns, blades and carnage, what more could you possibly want for $5.99?
WHAT!!!??? Nice release. I've always wanted to play this one, actually. It's one of those gems that kind of slipped by me due to bad timing and whatnot.
Thanks, gog!
Pretty good game.I remember how amazed I was when I first played it by the graphics - it was the first use of bumpmapping I have ever seen in a game, and it looked damn good.
Unfortunately I already have this from Steam, so I will wait for the second one and buy BR2 from here.

Same. Although I might hold off for a bundle pack then buy both through GOG at that time.
"Battle Nazis, mutants, swamp creatures, ancient parasitic monsters and blood-sucking beasts."
How can one resist?
If you haven't played this game, it's easy to dismiss it as random low-budget gibber, but it's actually a lot of fun. I'd call it a guilty pleasure, except that I don't feel guilty about it at all.
Wonderful release, will get this one a little later.
This game is pure fun.
It's a great game... get it!
I enjoyed this game way too much :) there's something about Nazis that makes them extra fun to kill. I remember being disappointed by the lack of Nazis (and also the lack of interchangeable guns) in Bloodrayne 2 - a Bloodrayne game without Nazis simply isn't worth it to me. ...but I hear a lot of people liked the sequel as well, though.

The sequel is not AS good, but it's still good. It does improve on the original in some ways, such as in the variety of level design, but the combat and blood effects aren't as satisfying.
I once thought about getting this off another DD platform, but never got around to it. I may do so here, but I've got 3 or 4 games I've still not downloaded and many more yet to play for more than a few minutes :}
After than, then, I'll probably grab it for something different than I normally play.
...good lord, really? I guess thats cool. I always thought it was funny the GameCube one was uncensored but the Xbox one was (Swastikas! Oh no!).
Ok enough with the horror thing... I don't want to even open the GOG homepage these days. (I know, I know, a new publisher etc).

Thanks guys played this a long long time ago. Thanks for giving me a chance to replay the game after all this time and with a lot of nice extras 2.
