Now this is a great game. Will give it another try as it was way too hard for me ten years ago. Should go better now I hope :)
Bought and added to my collection.
Oh holy potato! I never saw that coming, but I am VERY pleased to have it here. Thank you GOG. You make me your bitch better than Romero.
I know this is only just out, but any word on Commandos 2? I always felt it was significantly superior!

Pretty much the same thoughts I had!
Was horrible at this when it first came out...but maybe I'm better now. :)
Great game GOG. Commandos, Pyro's finest games. ;)
I've sent the news to Shacknews too: http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/60755
I remember playing a lot these games, at first replaying the demo infinitely, then bought it.
Also reminds me that some levels where so hard (for my age at the time), that i got constantly pissed about one or two soldiers screwing the entire mission, then i'd go for one machine gun nest and pop *every* enemy soldier for the lulz, and seeing the germans going crazy. Great times.
Come on COmmandos 2!!!!
Great! One of my childhood favorites. Something tells me I've already spent too many hours on this game in my life but i should probably try completing it without the teleportation cheat, which i had a slight inclination to do as a kid. XD
I remember my friends discussing their playing of the game, ages ago.
I, myself, never enjoyed it. Too much attention and strategy needed.
I loved this game when i played it.
Good atmosphere, looked good, good controls, very tense and required some thought.
I'm not sure why everyone keeps saying it was hard though, i don't remember it being particularly tricky. Sure, for each level there is a "correct' solution, but it was usually pretty obvious. I didn't find it half as hard as some obscure puzzles in adventure games, for example.
Strangely, though i really enjoyed it, i never got the urge to play the expansion pack or the sequels. I think it's length was about perfect, so i was ready to move on.

Agreed, a great atmosphere, a nice art style for buildings and maps in general.
The game is not haaaaard. Personally, it was hard back at the days because i was young.
Yes, the objectives are displayed pretty obvious, with in-game introductions of what to do in each mission, for those that aren't good at RTS, and you still can play in your own style to achieve the objectives, playing more stealth or action, or even avoid the enemies, as you like.

I like this genre! Sadly I lost my Desperados CD but maybe Desperados, Desperados 2 and Commandos 2 will also appear on GOG soon?
I must say, I never bought so many games (compilations excluded) in a half year like in the last half one since I joined here. And then the quality here is also superior. I even buy many games I already have because I don't want to put the CD in each time - or search it from my hundreds of CDs of mainly PC magazines to find a certain game. And then there are some pearls I never had access to or was not interested in at that time because they were too expensive. A good example is Swords of Xeen which I searched for years.
In short: After one year you are my favorite videogame store. Sure, I'll buy games in other stores, too, if you don't have it. But that's mainly console games and others to similar prices. Maybe I'm the worst of all customers for the big companys since I don't buy anything full-price unless I really want it, and barely a PC game where I have to worry about DRM, compatibility, or if it even is completed at all. On the other hand, on GOG.com the games are old enough, have the rating system if I don't know them at all, and if I buy crap, it was still not too expensive.
Keep the good work up!
I did play Behind enemy lines a lot back in the days, it's really a great game. Definitely worth the $6.
I've finished Desperados and Robin Hood but I've never touched any Commandos game. Funny ;) Maybe I will try it from GOG. Thank's for this addition GOG :)
Commandos (from 1998) is the game that introduced this gameplay style, before Desperados (2001). Never heard about this Robin Hood game, though, but i will vote for Desperados here. :)

on a german windows the games don't start claiming that "this is the international version, please run the german version".
already submitted a message to support, but maybe someone here knows how to fix that.
