“March to the sound of the guns”

Experience the trials and tribulations of managing a post-Renaissance army in [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/cossacks_anthology]the Cossacks Anthology, available now for just $5.99!

We may think that the modern age as one filled with savage conflicts--
World War I and World War II were titanic struggles that engulfed the whole planet--but Europe has a long and bloody history. The Cossacks Anthology on GOG.com brings the smoke and fury of battle back when black powder and pike ruled the battlefield right to your PC. Challenging players on both the tactical and the strategic front, Cossacks: European Wars requires avoiding plague and famine while collecting the raw resources needed to continue to equip and man a ravenous war machine. With 16 nations in the original game--and 2 more added in each of the 2 expansions--players can try to crush their opposition as almost any major European power.

With ten different campaigns, hundreds of single missions, multiplayer, random map generation, and a roll-your-own map editor, this Cossacks anthology has everything that a student of military history and strategy needs for endless hours of fun. With the expansions added, each force in a given confrontation can field 16,000 troops, giving battles a grand sense of scope and scale.

Take to the field and show Europe what you’re capable of in the Cossacks Anthology, today on GOG.com for only $5.99!
Sounds like a new addition to wishlist.
Why you do this to me GoG? I've already got a huge backlog of games and you keep adding fantastic games. Bah humbug. I'll never be able to replay all the old games, never mind the newer ones.

btw Cossacks is a great but sadly under-appreciated RTS series. Every RTS fan owes it to himself to get it.

Whitecroc: This is the Age of Empire clone with absurd troop numbers, yes?
Pretty much, allthough nowhere near as polished.

SimonG: I played the demo when it came out, didn't like it. But I think it has many dedicated fans.

Anyway, where is my Startopia?

grviper: Soulbringer, Cossacks... GOG's in the "catching up with DotEmu" phase.
This may be true, but that is a pretty snide way to put it. It isn't exactly GOG's fault they could not get it before now. It should also be well noted that GOG sells this for $5.99. DotEmu sells it for $19.95. I'll purchase from GOG any day.

keeveek: Ive bought the whole package for 5 euro on steam.
Lucky you! Uninterestingly, the normal price seems to be pretty much the same as in DE (19.99€ (19.95€ in DE), I had to check it by reconnecting with a 3G connection to get local prices).

keeveek: But still, there's no American Conquest: Divided Nation in a pack. I hope GOG managed to get this.
Apparently also known as "American Conquest 2"? Since it indeed seems to be missing from various sites, maybe it has entered the System Shock 2 limbo. Only lawyers can play it now.

I got the DE package for the Cossacks games though, I wasn't that interested in the AC game, albeit I have no idea if it is good too.

except the Anthology on GoG only contains the first installment and its expansions while the DotEmu offer contains all the Cossacks games (including the second installment and its expansions) and American Conquest and its expansion.

and the games have already been available pretty much everywhere else for quite a while now.
Can't say I'm displeased. Another good one for the catalogue.

DE 19.95(€) price is the pack containing not only Cossacks 1 games, but also Cossack 2, and American Conquest game(s). This GOG package is only for Cossacks 1 + add-ons.

DotEmu doesn't even seem to sell Cossacks 1 games separately, only as part of the aforementioned bundle. Cossacks 2 games are available separately for 9.99.

Anyway, if GOG later releases Cossacks 2 + add-on for e.g. $9.99, that'd be pretty much in line with current DE pricing of the bundle ($16), if you dropped the American Conquest games from the bundle. I am unsure if American Conquest can be considered as a 5.99 or 9.99 game. EDIT: DE considers AC as a 9.99€ game...

it was made by the same studio and published by the same company as first American Conquest, I don't know what the problem is, GSC hasn't answered my question on their forums.

RTS is just not my genre. I'm still holding my breath for Anachronox and Daikatana.

My head is pretty blue by now...

It's not a clone as this one is a good game (and to my understanding clones of bad games normally remain bad games - yup, I don't like AoE :P). And the troop numbers are far from absurd, they are simply pretty much the most realistic numbers ever seen in a historic RTS. ;P
Welcome to real gamers community GSC World. Glad to see you be here.
I'm the biggest RTS fan but I'm getting to like them a bit. I might grab this when it's on sale.
So this means Heroes of Annihilated Empires soon?

So VtM:B is coming up, then.
