Finally, a new platformer on GOG.com! Or, to be more precise, one of the greatest titles the genre has ever seen!

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/rayman_forever]Rayman is a 2D platformer game and the first title of a famous series that spawned sequels and spin-offs beyond count. The Forever edition, released by Ubisoft around 3 years after the original game, includes a bunch of goodies, most notably a level editor and Rayman By His Fans - 40 of the best staff-picked levels made with that very editor.
The game itself is a true platformer, with a strong emphasis on timing and reflex-based challenges, rather than combat. Its difficulty seems just right, in a way that makes you have to earn every level, but leaves you thoroughly satisfied afterwards.
Finally, Rayman still looks great, despite being over fifteen years old. This is mostly due to its amazing, fluid animations, but the game's high-color graphics and creative level design are sure to make an impression on you as well.
Overall, today's release is a pure, classic platformer that every gamer should at least try out.
low rated
Rayman. Lol what a piece of crap to release on GOG.

You get two weeks where you get the Battle Isle series, Heroes of Might & Magic and Might & Magic 7 & 8. Then you get a platform game that was substandard upon it's original release.

Here was I hoping for the innovative releases to continue, but I can see that the dregs from Ubisofts catalogue are being dredged up.

Colour me dissapointed in the extreme, I'll check back in next week to see if a decent title gets released.

Examples of old , good titles that need to be "GOGGED":-

Shadow Warrior
Requiem.
MM9
Killing Time
Strife
Captive
Knightmare
Dungeon Master
Black Crypt
Eye of the Beholder and the TSR series of RPG's ( Ravenloft etc)
......

**sigh**....I could go on.........

It's a great game , and not only for kids . Purchased .
Not for kids, too hard even for me.
Looks like nice small fun distraction. How is the ingame music? Such games should have a happy music. Would pay 3$ for it... at maximum. Sorry.
Hell YES!!
Hour of fun and frustration when I was but a young one. Don’t know if I’ll still enjoy the game play but the visuals and music are still wonderful.
Cool. Got to pick this up at some point. Thanks.

You realize of course that not all of us desire extreme bloodshed on our games, right? :P

I'm skipping this, I already own a version of this on CD somewhere. Good release though.
Put it on the wishlist, have not seen this game in ages.

Didn't expect that one, very nice addition!
When i saw the entry's name, i instantly though "OH MY GOD, RAYMAN ORIGINS IS ALREADY OUT!? MUST BUY!"
Then i realized it was Rayman FOREVER.. my bad.
I definitively remember having VERY funny (and hard) time with this one.. for now, it is wishlisted.
Now, if Rayman 2 is going to come out.. THAT is going to be a wtfinstabuy.

P.S.: Any chance Rayman Origins is going to be on GoG when the time will come?
I mean.. the occasion is too juicy for respecting the rules, IMHO.
Been waiting for this, for a while, great to see it here!

Kudos to GOG.com and Ubisoft for this fantastic release :)
I can now confirm that the Rayman Forever version as it is sold on GOG is missing some CD audio tracks compared to the original release (see attached images, ignore the first track in both pictures, that's the data track).

Dear GOG team: It would be really nice if you could give us the original game+audio in a separate folder, thank you. :)
