Hi,

My brother was kind enough to give me his old job-phone today. A Nokia E72. He told me it was locked, but that it should be an easy fix. I went home, logged on to the providers website, typed in the IMEI code and got the unlock instructions.

I was provided with two codes. I followed the instructions as closely as possible (some of the things it said would happen didn't etc.). I got a "Wrong Code"-message. I then typed in the second code, and got the same message. I then tried the first again, making EXTRA sure that i didn't get it wrong.. Same Message.

I noticed it said i had 5 tries, so i tried the second one more time, just to be sure and got the message "Not Allowed". It seems i have PERMANENTLY locked my new phone. A quick googlesearch seems to indicate that i actually only have 3 tries with this model (E72).

Is there anything i can do, or have i actually broken the phone? Typical of me if i have.. I always mess these things up.. :(

A phone repair shop may be able to sort it.

I was hoping someone else would chip in with something netter though.
yes my suggestion is take the phone to a nokia shop with the proof of purchase they will reset it after taking a fee remember if you use up all the tries the phone becomes locked out and junk forever, it was made that way in case someone steals it, dont take risks
Aww.. Shame. Well, thanks for the replies.

Jup, but I found nothing relevant in it. I will try calling the operator tomorrow. Perhaps they can help me out. If not i guess It's a goner.
