Isn't this for Damuna's roleplays and not other ones?

Do people still get to vote?
And just one vote right?
Ill join one of the 3.5 games. Which one just depends on what times the DM plans to run sessions.
Not 100% sure if this is the right thread to post in, but I might be interested in one of the DnD 3.5 games. I've played tons of DnD CRPGs, but no tabletop. EST.
Does this thread include roleplaying in bed?

I'd be open to either of those two games, the wait doesn't matter. I've been wanting to get into tabletop DnD for a while now, but it's impossible to find a local group. This could be a good way to start off.
I'm definitely interested, but I'm a total newb.

There seem to be a few folks around here on GMT though, so timing shouldn't be too much of an issue...
I''ll join a paranoia game.
I apologize if this debate was included in the other thread, if so, go ahead and skip reading the following.

I fail to see what the allure of D&D3.5 is at this stage? Yeah, Forgotten Realms got ruined, don't buy that source material (2nd ed. had the best FR source stuff anyway). Yeah you had to buy new books, this as well, is nothing new in the TSR world and you've had a couple years to find the spare change to scrounge up the 3-4 books that you probably actually need/want.

4th ed. system isn't actually bad, it plays well, and you can actually have combat and time to roleplay in the same gaming session (which makes it superior just on that point alone). It actually feels more like classic AD&D to me than 3.5 ever did.

I can hear the cries of "customization" from here, if that's what you want, GURPS has always been superior for this.

Again, I apologize if I'm rehashing due to my laziness, if so, don't waste your time on this post, it's my own fault.

Well, I actually like it even more now that I've played it in several formats. At PAX we played dungeon delves (pregenned characters, it's a competition vs. the DM and the setting, so they try and kill you, it's all combat based), you can go as heavily combat/light roleplaying to no combat/all roleplaying as you want, which is something I remember fondly about 2nd ed. The rules didn't get in the way. I had all the charts memorized back in those days, but let's face it, they were daunting and losing the charts is probably a net win. And any DM who would allow it had a table full of Psionic Monks anyway, people like "powers" as in the "WOW-ified" stuff (that WOW didn't invent, but nevermind) that people seem to hate so much.

Now here's the cool part, at PAX I sat next to dozens of gaming "nerds" in various forms. I sat next to jock looking dudes, cheerleader looking gals, a father and his twelve year old daughter. And you know what? We could all play, even those with no experience could pick up several of the classes (not the mage, he was too important to not letting the party wipe) and feel like they knew how to play, because even the novices could explain it to them after a few games of their own.

Now some might call that shallow, and I can see their point, but to me that opens up the possibility to make the game much more about story, rather than the roleplaying being some minor story with the sole point of setting up a pitched, battle that would last all session. Also, as a DM I wouldn't sweat letting a drop in play at my table, because with a pre-written character they could play it and have fun.

Also, I like it when mages don't roll 1 HP at first level:)

Please, I don't mean to derail your thread, we can start a new one, as you had something you probably wanted to get out of this (beyond a 3.5 vs. 4 debate).

if we have to sign up even if we voted n the previous thread, count me as signed up for paranoia. Otherwise you can pretend i didn't write this and sign me up for paranoia anyway,
Anyone wanna play in the Heresy game we're starting? Have a premade guardsman that needs controller.
Well, i must say for having it sprung upon me unexpectedly, Dark Heresy was fun.
