D-ROCK: Would you recommend this game? What genre is it? Thanks.
I bought this when it was released on GOG, and I had never played it before. After giving it a try, my feelings were mixed. The soundtrack and atmosphere are great, the freeform adventure part of it is enjoyable, the overall concept is refreshing and unique. But personally I found the controls unintuitive and the beat-em-up and shooter parts were clunky and not much fun to me. And while I liked that you can choose between different dialogue options, it was irritating that this doesn't make much difference at all, as the other characters will not really pay attention to what you say, what you know already and what you don't, which can lead to dialogues not making a lot of sense. I soon lost interest in playing the game, which is a shame because it has great potential.
