Warren Spector
Giants Citizen Kabuto dev Planet Moon Studios.

Their second game Armed and Dangerous was good but kind of more the same with a different setting and it was like the first section of Giants right through so no real gameplay variation.

After that they did an Afterburner game on the PSP (Afterburner should have been left alone in the arcades) and since they have done a few Wii & DS titles.

Very strong start with an amazing first game but since then they seem to have degraded a fair bit. Wish they would head back to the PC.
how could we forget derek smart?

Dzsono: Gearbox Software and Borderlands?
I thought it was kind of poopy, I liked their hl1 addons more than I liked hl1 actually.

Given their list of games, I do not think I would consider Gearbox a one hit wonder.

Ian Bird springs to mind. He made Millennium 2.2 and Deuteros: The Next Millennium, and then more or less disappeared off the face of the planet.

Yeah, but what a hit it was. Thief: Ultima System Ex was the freaking shit!

Too bad that the highly anticipated sequel Underworld Shock: Deus Shadows got cancelled...
Metal Arms: A glitch in the system.

But did he really develop those games? Deus Ex on the other hand he was the main man behind, and after that only failures and flops, so you can call him a one hit wonder.

Harvey Smith was the Lead Designer on Deus Ex, Spector was credited (as usual) as Producer and Project Director despite Deus Ex being his brainchild. He filled the same role during the development of System Shock, so that either leaves him with at least two legendary games on his record or none at all.

Either way: no one hit wonder.
Outcast is a one hit wonder
