Hey folks,

as the title states I´d like to hear your opinion about both these games. Reviews are kinda bad but I have found great pleasures in games like Cryostasis which had also gotten not so good scores. Have some of you played these games? What´s good, what´s bad? I played almost all RPGs of the last 15 years, so I don´t bother if there not polished to AAA standards.

Thanks in advance!

I have not played Game of Thrones yet but I do own it from a sale and after playing about halfway through "Of Orcs and Men" which uses the same combat system, I am looking forward to it. I've read it has a very good story too.

Particularly in the case of lukewarm reviews I just try to get as much objective info out of them as I can and use that to make my own call about whether or not I think I will like them. For example, after reading about "Of Orcs and Men" it sounded like something I would like and I was surprised the reviews were not more favorable. It did tend to score on the low end of "good" but being about 20 hours into it I'd be more inclined to call it great myself, say an 8.0 out of 10. I think Gamespot gave it a 7.0 and users there gave it a 6.8 on average I think which is the high side of "fair." To me, the game is really underrated. It looks great, the sound and music is good, the story is good and the combat is fun although I'd highly recommend a gamepad for best controls.

By the way, I plan to play "Game of Thrones" with a gamepad as well given the combat is the same and so probably the controls are the same. "Of Orcs and Men" just feels very natural with a gamepad and is fun to play in my opinion. If you like ARPGs you might want to read up on this game too and see if you think it is for you.

If "Game of Thrones" does have the good quality story I've heard about along with the gameplay/combat system I already like, that will carry it past any other imperfections most likely for me personally.
If I recall Game of Thrones RPG have a rather slow combat which won't fit for any player that likes fast paced action but since you enjoy RPGs I don't think that may be an issue. Mars: War Logs was kind of fun, I've played quite a bit of this type of games (action-adventures with light RPG elements and some story and choices) and they're are fun on their own just after playing some, you've played them all. Still, Mars: War Logs has an interesting atmosphere, but the combat is pretty easy and lack of character depth in most characters keeps immersion down.

I would only buy them if you don't have any great games in a possible backlog and they're on sale.
I played Game of Thrones RPG at a net-cafe for a few hours, and I was pleasantly surprised. The game has good polish, the interface doesn't suck ass, and it looks like an all-round good game. Also , Level, which is the only place I go to for game news, gave it a 9 out of 10, and those guys never failed me before in terms of reviews.
mars logs (despite the reworked script/voice acting), clunky fighting system, probably worth about 5-10 bucks.not $20 its being sold for on steam imho
Played G oT never finished it, I just did not like the combat at all.
