I was wondering if there is a programm (aside from steam) that let's you organise your games (shortcuts) and select/start them using a (xbox360) controller?

Big picture mode is not too bad, but I'm getting a fan of DRM-free games more and more and I don't want Valve to know every single game I'm playing by adding them on steam...

Any suggestions?

Have you thought of using some software that would enable you to steer mouse cursor with analog stick?

I know it's not ideal, but it works:

You could try D-Fend Reloaded. Last time I used it it was usable with a controller. It's more aimed at DOSbox, but you can add windows games and launch it from there
Does the Game Explorer work with a controller?
You could also try Aurora Game Hub which is in alpha and looks kind of like what you're looking for.
Thanks for your suggestions :D

- Joy to key is good for game without native controller support, but it's too inconvenient to use as a mouse.

- D-Fend Reloaded and Aurora Game Hub I will definitely check out!

EDIT: I just saw, that Gamepad Support is on the coming soon list of Aurora Game Hub :-/

This seems like an odd concern. What are you worried Valve will do with the knowledge of your shortcuts?

A family member of mine used to warn me about that because if they catch you using a pirated game, they can suspend your account. Though with them getting more and more into the Modding community, I can't see that happening.

Your family member was making stuff up then. Valve has absolutely no way of knowing what are you launching even, let alone legality of it. You could have a seemingly AAA game library consisting completely of mspaint.

I know that, however, I was just bringing out that people get concerned about those things. Personally, I have every single one of my games linked through steam, even my GOG ones.

I get the idea, but it's not really possible since you can name a shortcut anything you want. It's an idea that might come from a rational place, but we should try to dispel it.

Agreed. But, years ago, Steam DID have the power to look into a file to check for No-CD Patches and things like that.

Not anymore, though.
I think you are looking for something like the XBMC (with games plugin/extension), but don't ask me how to configure it... ;p

or HyperSpin, but this one is more for emulators, and it's too flashy for my taste...
Looked at XBMC, it doesn't mention games anywhere. Checikng it out, if I find the time.

The reason why I don't like Valve to know every game I'm playing, how long I'm playing them and how often? Why I don't like them to know all my preferences in games?

Do I still have to answer that question?

You don't HAVE to answer anything. It was just a question.
