Evenin' all.
Just a quick question to you all (as most of you are gamers :) ).
I have the urge to replay SoU and HotU however the FPS is quite low. I'm not sure this is a Win7 issue or not.
Windows 7 64bit
e8500 dual core 3.16ghz
8800GT 512mb
2gb ram
Integrated 5.1 sound - Can't think of the model of the top of my head but has no issues with any other game
g15 (gen2) keyboard
g9 mouse.
I know the game should run well but I can't get it to.
Any advise here?

Tried running it in windows XP compatibility mode?

Tried setting the CPU affinity in the NWN config file?
Tried fiddling with sound and sound acceleration? (Integrated sound cards can be problem areas here)
If all that fails, it could quite simply be that Nvidia's more recent drivers don't play well with NWN, as some on the Bioware forums have reported.

I recall on the nwn forum someone ran a base install of nwn on w7 beta and it ran really slowly. Downloading some vista drivers for his video card (an ati though), sped things up a bit. Have you done the driver dance? To see that you're all up to date.
Have you bring up the properties on your nwn exe and set it to run in windows XP compatability mode?
It doesn't sound like a dual cpu thing, 1.67 patch added some support for multi cpu's but really the best option with that is to use its new config settings to set processor affinity yourself. There are threads about it on the NWN forums. These forums are still active and you would likely get better responses there.

i cant remember if you have a choice in NWN but if you can change your rendering option (D3D, open GL) that and updating graphics drivers have fixed most of my game issues. Have yet to try a compatibility mode.

Figured it out. It was a dodgy sound setting.
Runs like a dream (as it bloody well should).
