Today the launch of the Ouya in some countries started.
Amazon US the console is already sold out.
Has anyone of you GOGers bought it or get it from Kickstarter?
How is the reaction about the console in your country?
Or is the hype gone? With all the other announced Android consoles
like: M.O.J.O., Gamepop, GameStick, unu there are many competitors.
Here is a good review of the thing from one of my favorite Youtube reviewers, Ashens.

He picked it up at a pawn shop two weeks ago. Seems some firmware updates have fixed some of the issues so far. Also in a ridiculous move, HDCP is on for the HDMI port at all times.

I got mine yesterday actually, and it's rather a decent device, but I preordered.
The reaction was on the news and it seems to have some fairly positive in
many regards.
It's rather quick loading, and the controller seems a lot more responsive than
previously shown. My ONLY real complaint is that it demands you enter a
credit card, which is ridiculous. As far as gaming goes, I've found many of
the titles for the system entertaining, on the upside though, you can turn
on a PIN requirement for purchases to avoid any accidental purchases
one might not want.
I am not disappointed with the system personally, but I think like Google
Play, you should not need a credit card if you aren't purchasing anything.

Have you checked where it comes from? If it says "Made in Nigeria" it could be from some phising company over there!!!!
Got mine some weeks ago and I have to admit the most exciting thing I did on it was to update the firmware.

I am definitely not a fan that you have to download a game to know if it's really free or not and if it's not to know its price, and of course no mention at all of the DRM used (but then again it's the same issues with Android), for the games selection, well, it's Google play-lite (very lite) and lot of the games I tried felt like rushed Android port sometime even asking you to "touch the screen" to continue.

Well in the end I bought/back it to have a cheap Android device so I will probably "root" it soon anyway.

If yours says Nigeria you may have a knock off, or "bOuya" :P. Mine was sent to me by my rich, long lost, uncle, who doesn't know which side of the family he's from.

Actually, I have enjoyed using it to play my old PS1 games that are imports, since my PS2 and 3 aren't able to run PS1 imports. Plus in the case of having to English patch a couple of them. :) Same with backups of my old N64 and SNES games, less to carry around too if I hook it up to a bigger TV down stairs. :)
