Top 100? Why not 1000?
Never seen a single good top 100 list in my life. Why not 20? More solid, comparable.
Bah!
Fair enough, although I can't help but feel that outside of DX and Planescape, they just randomized some review score aggregates.
I don't really disagree with any of the top 10, I just feel that it is a pretty lazy and generic top 10. Maybe that is because those games deserve to be there, but it just feels more like they got automated, considering that these are the games on everyone's top 10 list (again, with the exception of DX and Planescape). It is pretty rare to find even one game that everyone agrees is top-10 material.
The editorial top ten is spot-on for me other than Oblivion. Replace that with Morrowind and we're gold.
I refuse to believe that the second, third, and fourth best PC games of all time were all made by Valve, especially when StarCraft is conspicuously missing; buried under the likes of World of Goo, GTA 4, Fallout 3, and Oblivion.

Planescape Torment should be 7 slots higher, other then that good list.

The editorial list is pretty gosh durned good, except for the two Bethesda games.
I submitted:
1 Deus Ex
2 Fallout
3 System Shock 2
4 Gothic 2
5 Arcanum
It's not exactly accurate. Fallout 2 and System Shock 1 would normally be there, but that'd be kinda boring, eh?
(I still haven't played Planescape more than 2 hours. :()
#82 Solitaire?
well, thanks to having nothing else to do, and the get jetable mail firefox extension, i actually bothered to sign up and submit.
But five games isn't really enough. My top 5 computer games changes depending on my mood/memory. 10 would have been better.
So, even though Deus Ex, System Shock2 , etc.. would probably be my top games of all time, i voted mostly for great games that seem to go unrecognised.
Tie Fighter, Jedi Knight, NOLF, and so on.
I kinda feel this is going to end up like the gog wishlist, about 10 games with 100x more votes than anything else.
I don't understand thisObliion hating
I played Morrowind before Oblivion and liked it, but Oblivion topped that off as the one of the best games i've played Perhjhaps, between generations, different genres led to different trends. For example, the old Daggerfall style may have been what Morrowing as following, wheras Oblivion took a larger step into sandbox games like GTA.
Here's mine.
I think it's a decent list. I don't agree with some choices. I'd personally replace Oblivion and Fallout 3 with Morrowind and Starcraft. But still I think taken as a whole it's a pretty amazing and comprehensive list.
But no Cyan games... :(
I actually contacted them to add the Myst and Riven options for the fan top 100.

acare84: Where is the Daikatana?

Agreed. No Daikatana = that list is crap.
The selections weren't as ideal as I would have hoped, so my list ended up looking like this:
1: Star Control/Star Control II
2: Deus Ex
3: System Shock 2
4: Fallout
5: Magic Carpet
In particular, 1 should have been split up like all the other games (PC Gamer has no excuse here since they specifically cited Star Control II by itself in the editorial list, number 54), and 5 would have been Magic Carpet 2: The Netherworlds if they just gave me the option.
