Hey! Everyone who is into funny gaming, should have heard about, or played through, an odd, quality title, called: "Plants VS Zombies". A tower defense, strategy game, which had been released in 2012. Too fun for anyone's standard, you were in for hearty laughs, smiles and gigles, every minute of gameplay! The developers were full of inspiration and talent.

Then, EA happened. Bought them off. Turned game into a franchise. Made it exclusive to consoles and new mobile systems that are crossbreeds between pc and mobile. And worst of all, turned its latest sequel, into a micro transaction, pay to win, sitty, online game wannabe (even though it begun its life as a pc title, buy once, get the whole package thingy).

Anyway, now, EA is giving it out for free, on Origin, which you can download for free. Until 28 of MAY. At least it is the Game of The Year Edition! And the game developed by the original developers, BEFORE E.A. had to cash in and ruin everything... Or else i wouldn't touch anything off of EA, even as gift.
Yep it's real I got it.

The game is really fun, probably my favourite Tower Defence game after Defenders Quest.

At least I think it is a tower defense game. Doesn't have the random routes for enemies to take that typical TD games have, but it has the same "feeling" to it

EA Have given away Plants vs. Zombies several times. Last Halloween they did a promotion where you could print out tickets to hand out instead of candy and it gave a code to unlock Plants vs. Zombies (without Origin I may add.) Definitely a fun game and not too hard. My (then) five year old more or less mastered it on X-Box several years back.
Being required to install and use their Origin crap doesn't really meet my definition of "Free".

Not like it matters, as I already have the original PvsZ on disc. It's actually surprisingly entertaining, and I'm not even a fan of the genre. Anyone who already has EA's client installed might as well grab a copy of this.

What the? You don't have to pay anything and Origin is just a client like Steam, nothing more and nothing less. By those standards even the GOG freebies aren't free. :P

They're technically not, since you're required to sign up here first. But at least GOG doesn't have any mandatory clients, and theoretically you could download the freebies and keep them, even if you never use GOG again.

In the end none of these are "gifts" they offer you out of the kindness of their hearts ( especially in EA's case :P ). They're just a little marketing trick, to bait new users into trying out a service and/or install their client.

But again, if someone doesn't mind using Origin or already has it installed, then by all means grab the game since it's pretty fun.

There, listen to the man. Details, but ALWAYS, the small letters, make the difference. Already uninstalled it. And returned to the boxed GOTY edition i got once, way back.
I remember they gave out PvZ codes to hand out on Halloween before, don't remember if that was this last Halloween or the one before that one.
personally, i think theres alot of hot air about free/ not free and clients.

get a grip
