It looks like a slow and unnecessary way to transform your PC into a glorified KVM that probably won't do the job that well unless you use compatible controllers

I think the million dollar question is;
If you have to own the consoles themselves in the first place, not just the games, then what on earth is the purpose of that thing? Do you really need an extra layer of abstraction on top of the console you already have, which plays the game fine?
No, that's right. You don't. This thing is potentially more useless than those blinged-out mobile phones that only Paris Hilton likes.

Weird...
For $200 you could just buy a secon consol for the remote location. Of course, this works wit all of them I guess.
I really hope this cloud gaming thing never really catches on for PC, as it would destroy so much of why I love the platform. Maybe this would work though, simply as a portable way to game on a laptop it would be cool, something that is a supplement, rather than a new way to do things.

Reminds me of the company that takes your game consoles, media centers, DVD players, and rips them up and takes the hardware and puts it in a neat little rack, saving you exactly three seconds to turn each sucker on.

But what about the controllers? Can you really play a game designed for a control pad with a keyboard & mouse? I think hundreds of sloppy ports have shown the answer to be no. And what about motion control stuff?

Heh, or one could spend a total of $20 for a VGA adapter to the console, connect it directly to the computer screen and play console games "at the computer" that way. Oh, and not have to worry about lag as the picture and commands are sent back and forth over the wireless network.

Right... I'm sure at least a few people will buy it. If it were not so expensive, my lack of interest in having a TV would make it useful, I'd need a console as well mind you. But there are far cheaper options than this, including just wiring up one directly with a cheap adaptor.
Kotaku's "Play console games on your PC" title is a little misleading if all you are doing is using the PC to grab a wireless signal to the PC's monitor.

The inference is that you control via PC as well. Its the only thing that saves it from being a magic box

Ahh, didn't catch that immediately, but it is on their product FAQ. It does allow the option of any gamepad USB controller, with the software converting the button's commands across.
All fine and good, unless propitiatory controllers are required for game-xyz like some companies have suggested they want in the future.
