But before you do that, here's a short story. Our dog died a little over 6 months ago. He was pretty old and had a heart condition. My mom felt emptiness without any companion (during academic year she's alone in the house for most of the day).

Two days ago, a stranded cat visited us. I say stranded, but the most probably version is somebody tossed him away. He isn't big enough to travel that far (we live near a forest), and he prefers to stay indoors most of the time. He's very domesticated, he's already cleaning after himself, we didn't have to show him how to use the sandbox or anything, he already knew that.

So, we asked neighbours is this their cat or they know anyone whose this cat may be, but noone knew.

So we decided to keep him. His name is Rufi (full name: Rufus), and he's an explorer. He's already been to a places in our house we didn't even know they exist :P Of course he's pretty lively as well, so it's not that easy to make a photo of him that isn't completely blurred.

Rufi is our new member of the family.

You're wrong. The cat decided you were worthy to keep him, puny human !

Edit : cat psychology you know, better get used to it quickly.
Sidenote : I had a cat once , the most clever and murderous kind. He died way before cameras were incorporated in every possible electronic device so I don't have any digitalized image to share :(

This is my cat, Spooky. It's the only decent picture of him I happened to have on my phone. We'd just returned from London and hadn't unpacked yet, and he immediately claimed my suitcase for his own. He just has a thing for suitcases, bags and boxes. As you can tell from the photo, he also sheds a lot.

Is this his "look at me, I'm fabulous!" pose? :D
Reminds me of a story that recently made it's rounds through Swedish newspapers. A cat had gotten lost around the Gothenburg area, and was found over 300 kilometres away (close to where I live) and 15 years later.

Ha, this is possible that he got lost or escaped, but he's still pretty young. And wasn't looking like travelling for a long time, wasn't that much hungry either.

My guess is, some family got bored of him and tossed him away on our backyard. For now, he doesn't show any signs of wanting to go somewhere else.

We checked the local classifieds and such for any news about lost cat, but nothing so far.

No no, that's just his "I've disconnected from the world" pose. His "look at me, I'm fabulous!" pose involves stretching out completely while looking at you upside-down.
any more?
Pic was taken last November. That's me with Molli the cat.

1. This cat has since deceased.
2. It wasn't my cat, it was my mom's.
But it was still a very awesome cat, the best I've ever known. Very friendly, very lazy, very heavy and fluffy. Adorable.
