My parents have a Pc with Windows 7, I have a Macbook Pro. I just remembered that there should be an OS disk that came with the PC sitting around somewhere. My question is: can I use that to install Windows 7 on my Mac? Will using the restore disk actually work, and is what I plan to do breaking any terms of use or anything of that nature?

Probably not.

First you do find the disc (and that's subject to being very iffy the last decade since they usually don't give you any discs), the installation would wipe your harddrive completely clean.

Second, usually the disc is set for a particular piece of hardware, assuming you have X CPU and Y Motherboard and Z monitor, and these drivers will automatically be installed.

Third if the configuration doesn't match what it expects, you will need to enter a valid key for Windows, or if it lets you go through it will give you a 'this system will be locked in 30 days unless registered' and a program that won't go away or shut up. A program will pop up if you activate it referring you to information to enter in after you've paid for your own CD Key. And Microsoft won't necessarily keep track of this key number, so if you call up again because it didn't save or you had to reinstall, you may have to pay again...

Well, shit. Thank you for answering, though. Guess I'll just have to stick with Wine.

It will not work. You can not use a restore or recovery disk to install windows on a Mac. If you have a new copy of windows on a disc you can use that. You would need to setup a virtual machine on your Mac's hard drive and install windows on that or use Apple's boot camp software.
