Apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere, but I don't get onto this forum as often as I'd like due to other commitments.
Is the deal with Atari and Activision for a pre-decided set number of games? IE, has it already been decided by GOG what games will and have been released. Obviously I don't expect any of the newer games to be released here, as that's not really the point of the site anyway.
One of the things I'm wonder for instance is if there are going to be any more Activision games, as one I'd like to see is Spycraft the Great Game. I don't know if anyone else remembers this game. At one time I was concerned that it wouldn't appear as there is a fair amount of FMV in it, but then again, Gabriel Knight 2 was released.
Anyway, its a rather lengthy post to ask a basic question.
GOG will not release any information about prospective games, but I think it is safe to assume that the Atari and Activision games that have already been released are not the only games they will be releasing. They always keep a few games in reserve (so to speak) in case they need to pull an unexpected release
As confirmed here, there will be more Activision games.
Nothing is ever set in stone. They start with a list they want and work with the publisher from there. Sometimes the publisher will add things they didn't think of. Then depending on how that goes, more games may or may not be added. They've said thanks to good sales of the first Ubisoft titles for example, they were able to get the M&M games.
The idea though is to get as many GOGs as possible. They're always trying their best. Some games are harder than others due to licensing and rights and such. But it's easier the more successful the site becomes (and it's doing well).

Given that older deals with publishers still result in the occasional release, I'd say it's safe to say that we haven't seen the end of Activision's GOG releases just yet.

Excellent read. Good to hear something on the Hasbro front, if they can work their magic on that, it opens a whole new world for GOG.

Hell, I'm not saying they don't try. :) You're right about the sites success helping as it seems there's been a ton more releases recently. I think I'll be backed up. I've still to get the Tex Murphy games, and the first two Gabriel Knights. I loaned the GK's out and never got them back.

It's mine, so thanks!
Agreed. Wasn't expecting them to talk about those.
Site will explode when they show up. :)

Hey, at least you're not like some of us with 50+ titles. I've beaten like...two.

The thing is, if they can get Hasbro on board, it means much more than just the D&D license. Hasbro still owns the rights to a huge number of licensed game properties, like Transformers, G.I. Joe and all of Hasbro's board game titles. While they wouldn't necessarily be the kinds of games the "hardcore" gamers around here might be interested in, they do have a very broad appeal that would expand GOG's customer base greatly. Honestly, I would kill to have a working copy of Beast Wars again. The game was almost universally panned, but I had a load of fun with it back in the day.

Didn't realize the extent of it. I'll play anything good so I'd be interested in anything they bring, though mostly the RPGs. :)
