Hey,
Planning on buying a game, either Assassin's Creed or CoD 5 for the PC
I have 2 comps
Comp 1:
2.8 GHz Core Duo
Nvidia 7600GT (256
1 GB RAM
XP
Comp 2:
2.8 GHz
Nvidia soemthing (forgotten-8xxx I think with 256)
2 GB RAM
Vista
So basically you want to know if the games will run fine?
They should. If I was you I'd be running the games on the second computer - 1GB ram won't hack it on top settings.
Cheers
Should run both games fine, but Ass. Creed is still horribly underoptimized for the PC.
Really?
I never did play it on PC (or any format whatsoever lol) - just looked at it and read the constant complaints and went meh.
If I was you prakaa, and wanted something like "WTF THATS AWESOME" I'd get the new Prince of Persia. I played it on PC with a gamepad and honestly... I finished it in only a couple days (didn't get ALL the orbs or unlocks etc, just the main quest) but there were moments where I had to scream OMFG and wipe tears of awesomeness and exhiliration off my eyes. That game seriously rocks, too bad it's so short.
Have you played CoD 4? I thought that was quite damn good myself, heard CoD5 isn't as good...?

COD 5 is the best game that Treyarch has ever made. That's not really saying much, to be honest (other than fricken Nazi zombies and Kiefer Sutherland), because I didn't really like it. COD 4 was pretty good though.
Assassins Creed Reqs, (Don't know about CoD5)
Minimum:
* Processor: Dual core processor 2.6 GHz Intel® Pentium® D or AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 3800+ (Intel Core® 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ or better recommended)
* System Memory: Windows XP: 1 GB RAM / Windows Vista: 2 GB RAM
* Video Card: 256 MB DirectX® 10.0-compliant video card or DirectX 9.0-compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher
Dual Core is required
If PC2 is dual or quad, stick it in that, otherwise grab another gig for PC1 and you'll be better off.
It's not that optimised as michaelleung suggests, so you want all the grunt your PC can deliver, but you will need to run it on low-med settings for it to play smooth.

I ran cod5 on a 3ghz, 2gb ram 256mb 6800 ultra so you will have no problems running it on your second PC. My friend had a 7600GT with 1GM RAM and he couldn't run it but he only had a 3ghz cpu not a dual core. Not sure if the 1GB RAM will bottleneck the game or not seeing as I could run it on a lower card 2GB of RAM and he couldn't run it without serious lag. I would advise putting another GB of RAM in as its so cheap nowadays anyway.
EDIT: I should probably add that because your second computer only has a single core the campaign movies may take up to 5 minutes to load up but the game should run fine.

I was planning on getting CoD 4, but it's more expensive (funny that), and all my PS3 buddies have CoD5 so I can play with them

I wanted to buy 4, but it was more expensive and my buds didn't have it
Yeah i've tried the new Prince of Persia
Yeah i'll probably try to buy CoD 5, but if I can't get it right now (trading in games), i'll buy Assassin's Creed

Didn't know that the PS3 and PC version could play with each other. Cool!
That's what I was told, but we apparently can't add each other to our respective friend's lists

They can't. Prakaa if you want to play Cod5 with your PS3 buddies you will have to get Cod5 for the PS3.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Now i wonder Assassin's Creed or Cod5
Assassin's Creed is a steal here in Aus, $20
CoD 5 at its cheapest is $60
I have some games to trade around the value of $20
If Assassins Creed has a demo I would play that as cool as the running around and fighting was the game got very repetative after the first city.
It does't
I've played a bit of CoD 4
I play CoD5 a bunch with some friends, join us on Xfire
my xfire name is weclock
