Since they seem to be the next "big thing" these days...
The only experiences I have with multiplayer games is either WoW (which can be fun or a nightmare depending on your group) or playing Super Mario Bros. with my mom-probably 15+ years ago.
The thing is, I don't really have anyone here to play with. Not only do I live in the middle of nowhere, I actually am the sort that stays in and plays games because I'm not very good in social situations.
I guess the real question is, are these games fun even if you can't bring a friend? If there is some sort of matchmaking system, are they usually good. Are there any games I should flat out avoid?
I'm not asking about pure multiplayer games like Titanfall, but stuff like the new AC game, or Divinity: Original Sin, or even Torchlight or Magicka
