Have you ever been trapped in a nightmare?

Amnesia: The Dark Descent, a gripping first-person perspective horror story full of mystery, darkness, and demons lurking in the shadows inducing a constant sense of dread, is available 75% off on GOG.com. That's only $4.99 only for the first 48 hours, to get your DRM-free copy!

Thousands of pages have been written on the anatomy of fear. It's one of the most basic emotions shaping the human psyche and dictating our actions. But how many of us actually know fear? Not the tingling sensation that something's wrong and you should be worried, but actual terror that's caused by constant, lethal, and very real, yet unfamiliar threat. This is a game that, according to many, comes as close to inducing that state, as possible for a computer game. Praised for its gripping atmosphere, perfect pacing, and involving gameplay, it's one of the most prominent--in not the most prominent--modern achievements in terror fiction.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent puts you in a situation with no escape and the only thing you can do is to push forward, deeper into the nightmare that's becoming more morbid and terrifying by the minute. You will find yourself exploring a half-ruined castle, that witnessed many acts of madness and inhumane cruelty. Deprived of all memories, hunted by spawns of evil, forced to behold sights that shatter your sanity, you will venture into the darkness with no real hope of ever emerging victorious. Mixing a fascinating story, terrifying setting, and well-executed design, this title deserves a place in every horror fan collection.

Are you ready to inject your mind with an excess dose of poisonous terrors? Empty your bladder, switch off the lights, put on your headphones, and throw yourself head-first into Amnesia: The Dark Descent, for only $4.99 on GOG.com. The 75% discount offer lasts until Saturday, July 27, at 9:59AM GMT.
I've had this via HB (and Penumbra Collection from somewhere else) and have yet to play it. Really must play it, first Shadowrun Returns.

011284mm: GOG, could do a mod spotlight for Amnesia even, they have covered heavily modded games before.

HypersomniacLive: That's a great and very welcomed idea.

Dear GOG,

I would love to purchase 5-10 copies of this title while it is on sale to give away in a promotion. However, my bank balks at multiple small transactions to the same recipient (as they should, since this is often a sign of a problem).

Is there any way of getting multiple codes within one purchase? It would be a huge help, not just for this promotion, but for gifting in general.

Until then, you are missing out on purchases, I am missing out on granting folks' wishes, and they are missing out on the games. We're losing all around.

Thanks,

Sinistar
I might be buying this for the third time, but it's still an instabuy!

Hope this is a sign that we could see the Penumbra series or A:AMFP on here as well.
Ah what the hell, I always appreciate a good scare or, at least, a creeping sense of paranoia.
You know I am surprised there were no announcements of this game coming here prior to its release.

Got any sources?
Well, the game is definitely rising on the catalogue! I'm guessing it will slow down when the sale ends.

Also, I guess there was a bit of a strategic move on GOG's part. A Machine For Pigs is suppose to release this summer (or perhaps early fall). It's nice to see some logic here.

Reever: Credit card?
Same issue. My bank, rightly in most cases, flags ups multiple transactions to the same vendor as possible fraud. Especially when the transactions are all the same price. That's why I keep asking for a way to combine all the transactions into one. But that isn't an option here apparently with gift codes, as you can only get one code for an order no matter how many items it contains.

People have discussed "splitting" promo codes. I think it's possible to redeem a code for multiple games/items to get just one of those items then pass it along. This might depend too much on the honor system and I'm not exactly sure how it works; and you might not be able to get multiples of the same item in the cart together.

it only happns when you own a game in the "bundle" as it were. in other words, any game you own remains unredeemed

I appreciate y'alls suggestions, but sounds more like an exploit than a feature, software-wise. Frankly I think the solution is for GOG to issue a code for each game in a gift order. It's not like the permutations of codes are likely to be exhausted any time soon, after all. I realise this means changing their ordering system, which means money spent in development and debugging, but hopefully it would repay itself in the long run.

IAmSinistar:
im inclined to agree - though my post was more filling in undeadcow on that which they did not know
Just a question to the GOGers who bought this... is there any difference in GOG's version and Humble Bundle V's version?

If I understood correctly, both the Justine DLC and the short storys have already been released by the devs, so there's nothing I would gain by buying GOG's version, right (besides having it in the virtual shelf,)?

I've yet to had the chance to play it, and if it has the same contents as the GOG version, I'll pass this one. Having already a DRM-free version + lows funds in my wallet = saving 5$, which my wallet appreciates a lot.
