Grow stronger turn, by turn.

Eador: Genesis, an impressive turn-based strategy with RPG elements, that sends you on a quest to conquer a shattered realm, is now available on GOG.com, for only $4.79! That's 20% off, this week only!

The world is no longer whole. All that remains are the islands of existence drifting aimlessly through the endless ocean of emptiness and oblivion. This broken realm houses many aspiring despots, hell-bent on uniting the floating shards of land under their own rule. There was, however, no single monarch who could achieve that feat since the time of the cataclysm. That won't stop you from trying, of course. Is it because you're even more hungry for power and wealth then your opponents? Or maybe you see a higher purpose in domination over Eador? Maybe you believe, that the world united under the rule of one strong leader will finally begin to heal? As one of the Masters, you're free to exercise your will however you see fit. But know this: history will judge you.

Eador: Genesis delivers a turn-based strategy experience inspired by the classics of the genre. It's a multi-layered game, equally stressing the importance of your kingdom's development and management, and your tactical battlefield abilities. There's also a strongly accented RPG element, that goes so well with the imaginatively crafted fantasy setting of the game. With over 170 structures to build, 80 magic spells to master, and 70 kinds of units to lead into the battle, each with its own goals and defining characteristic--this title will keep you busy for many long evenings.

Looking for a well-polished turn-based strategy game that's immersive, enthralling, and deep? Get Eador: Genesis, for only $4.79! That's 20% off until the promo ends on Tuesday, December 11, at 10:59AM GMT.

towerbooks3192: And my usual question

Replayability and Random Map generator? Is it like HoMM?
I think all maps (shards) are random, so pretty replayable :). Also lots of different, but working play strategies.

grviper: Hommmmmmmm....
You said it :-D

Elwin: There is "morality" system in game -> if you stick to evil units like orcs and use lots of necromancy, also pick "exploitation" choices in random events, you'll get less good events and moar disasters. Vice versa with being "good".
avatar
Kunovski: so, what's the up side (...how do you spell that thing?) of being "bad"? :)
AFAIU you get more short term bonuses. The example with the witch was nice - you let her live and get some crystals but you will get more disasters later on. You can kill her (no crystals for you) but the future will be brighter... I wonder though if this karma system is well balanced...

ninja'd as usual... I'm getting old ;)

Guys, the line about real-time on Polygon's article was a mistake. Masters of the Broken world is a turn-based strategy as well.

Crosmando: Surprised they didn't use this opportunity to do a pre-order for Masters of a Broken World, along with selling Genesis
they might once they think enough people bought it here and were impressed :)
Looks well. Wishlisted for now.

What about multiplayer capabilities?

Fenixp: It doesn't even seem to have an entry on ign or metacritic... How comes? Can't really find any user reviews of the game. It does seem pretty damn good tho, goes on my wishlist nao.

G-Doc: That might have something to do with the fact that up to this day it was never released outside of Russia.
Never heard of it either, but seems interesting enough.
It seams that russian games dont appear that often in the west, well at least not in Norway.
Only other game i remember at the moment is Tetris.
The Greenlight page for Masters of the Broken World confirms it is also a turn-based game.

"Take the role of the mighty Master and shape the destiny of Eador! It is in your power to deliver the world from ultimate destruction – or to choke it with an iron fist of tyranny. Eador: Masters of the Broken World is a turn-based fantasy strategy game, where the decisions you make affect the world even deeper than the battles you win."
Can someone from the GOG team, add the title to the GOG mixes catalog? The title is still not there at the moment. I understand that it may take time for a database to update, so I shall check back and see a day later.

Trilarion: What about multiplayer capabilities?
None, AFAIR.

overread: that makes sense...i was wondering how hex based rts would work...not a big fan of big 3d ...they could pretty up the 2d and i would be happy...My favorite in this genre is Master of Monsters on the Sega Genesis...great depth, simple visual style, simple rules...hated the cut scenes. If i could have turned off the cut scenes it would have been the perfect game...AI cheated a lot...I would like to see an updated, expanded, 2d(heh) Master of Monsters.

Looks like Polygon got the real time and turn based strategy mixed up. It's very clearly a turn based game, even their own screenshots in their article should show them that ;)
An Insta Buy for me. It looks incredibly cool.

It's Russian (so probably difficult :), it's turn-based strategy, it's 'like chess' (ie: requires a brain) and is played mainly by Europeans.

What's not to like!!

Am downloading it now and will let you all know my first impressions soon.

Wow, and what about at least such titles as: Silent Storm, King's Bounty, STALKER?

Isn't the Disciples series also Russian? (I'm pretty sure that Disciples 2 and 3 are russian I'm unsure about the first but I assume it is as well)
