JMich: I got one (first one actually) with Wizardry. Didn't get one for Chaos Overlords, even though I had voted for it. Haven't received one yet for Jade Empire.
What makes it look even more random, since I got mine 12 hours ago.
I guess it depends on you having voted for the game on the wishlist
That goes without saying.
and possibly the game having more than X votes.
Doesn't explain why I got one while you don't.

I guess it's just a new feature that doesn't work the way it should.
glad to see this, I was kinda thinking that EA had blown its load and gone home.

as much as everyone is calling for KOTOR, and it would be nice to have #2, I would still prefer if we were to get SW:Battlefront 1 on here at some time.
Wow. So this was the clue of the week's solution... well, i still don't get it but this game is pretty epic.
how modifiable is this thing?

I know that KOTOR-2 wasn't officially modable (as in, shipped with a tool set) so this one -could- get some work done to it too, right?
I never heard of this game. I'm intrigued, like the setting but will need to wait - currently broke. I saw this on wikipedia:

Like the original version, the Special Edition has also been criticized for being too short and for having rather easy battles using a simplistic battle system

From reading previous posts, it seems the battle system is simplistic, but do the battles get very repetitive and boring because of the simple system and easy fights? Considering its more action-oriented, this would seem to be a negative, yet it seems most people here who've played it have really enjoyed it. If you played the game, how are the battles? If they do get a bit boring, what about the game kept you playing despite this?

I enjoyed the game for what it's worth. :D (X-box version before I gave it away)

Firstly, it's pretty much a bioware game. If you liked Star wars knights of the old republic, Mass effect series and Dragon Age's style of RPG, story and dialogue + romances (This includes Jade Empire), most likely, you will find fun out of this game. Otherwise, this may not be your cup of tea.

As with bioware's creed sometimes, combat tends to be more style than substance. The combat looks nice in execution, and gives you a great feeling of being in action. However, if you are expecting a ninja gaiden level of fighting strategy with tons of moves to use and intricate combos, you are better off looking elsewhere.

it is KOTOR with Kunf-Fu instead of Jedi, the battles are exactly the same kind of "offer suggestions while your characters pretty much auto battle" ... which is funny because people gush over KOTOR's combat.

as far as length, I do not know as I never finished my Xbox version; I think if it -seems- short it is because this game has more branching based on if you are evil or good than what KOTOR did.

in KOTOR you pretty much did the exact same things, in the exact same places, regardless of if you were Jedi or Sith; if I remember right, this game starts taking you different places depending on your alignment and you won't see every location on a single play through ...... I think, it has been a while.

As JudasIscariot mentioned, you can expand combat with this mod:

I've actually never played those games. :) From Bioware's catalog, I've only played Baldur's Gate (in the middle of playing for the first time now) and Neverwinter Nights. I like both games, very well done.

That actually might be a positive for me, I found the modern Ninja Gaiden extremely difficult.

Thanks all for the help! I'll grab it when I get paid and give it a shot with the in style mod installed.

This was a nice game - I liked it a lot. But for $9.99 on sale it is still overpriced at this point I think...
On my wishlist for a better sale.
Seriously tempted to get this. Never got to play it back in the day, but I absolutely loved the original KOTOR (which I hope will come to GOG as well). My wallet is hating GOG more and more every week.

Does this change the flow of the combat for melee?

I recently played through it and at first I tried to play at Hard as I recall playing normal the first time and I wanted a challenge. Sadly enough, the controls are a bit sketchy for my part not to mention on hard your enemies don't only become more aggressive but they deal more damage and you deal less on them which required a bunch of reloads or excessive training to make any sort of progress so I lowered the difficulty and ended up abusing spells and transformation abilities instead.

I haven't voted for Jade Empire, thus I didn't get a notification e-mail. The point about X votes was because I had voted for Chaos Overlords, but there wasn't an e-mail notification for it.

MasodikTiasma: I own this game on disc, it's really fun and the setting is cool.
Still, seeing the rhino demon ennemies on the screenshots, I can't help but be reminded of this:

Sad, really sad...
Very sad, that superstitious people, with money and little in the way of brains or compassion are funding their extinction.
