Power Chess was a chess program made by Sierra. Its sequel, Power Chess 98, was the best chess game ever made for people who aren't chess pros already. It featured a Queen who was a pro (based on the WChess engine) and a King who would adapt to your play. The King started out very easy, then each time you beat him, he moved on to the next level. Regardless of how you did, the Queen would analyze your game and produce full digitized voice commentary and suggestions.
It is chess with a "human" side to it, not just the typical crunch-positions chess program. I haven't seen any other program like it since. Unfortunately, it doesn't run on XP or Vista. If GOG brought that game up to date, I'd gladly pay $9.99 for it in a heartbeat!
